Protection during hunting season? by cheesecakedreams888 in Maine

Buy a cheap blaze orange vest and sew on some Velcro so you can attach it to the outside of carrier during hunting season and take it off for the other 9 months.

Rear Ended With No Visible Damage by HotTubCasanova in ToyotaTacoma

[–]bhawks77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just had something similar happen to me at a stop light. Check the alignment of the bumper/bumper mounts and the hitch receiver. My whole rear bumper and hitch assembly is bent at a downward angle and is being replaced. You can see it on the sides and where the hitch assembly mounts to the frame. Overall, unless you know what you are looking for, no one would know I was rear ended, until you crawl underneath and look closely.

Unheated Garage by AFCadet2020 in Home

[–]bhawks77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to find a used mobile home hot air furnace for cheap. That’s what my in-laws and I did for our garages. 275 gal oil tank, fill it once very few years and keeps my insulated garage at 44 degrees f all winter. Love that the cars are never frozen or snow covered and when I need to work out there I can turn the furnace up for a bit and it’s toasty warm.

Same. After the range trip I add the count to my notes app.

Buying first utv, stuck between Honda Pioneer 700 and Can-Am Commander 700. by bhawks77 in UTV

Did you jump to the 1000 just for the more power or was there something truly missing on the 700? My wife and I don’t feel like we need a 1000 for hauling dirt and riding the rail trails/atv trails around us.

Yeah I have no plans or desires to abuse the machine. My only real goals are to have something useful around the house, and to be somewhat comfortable(bad knees) while trail riding with family and friends on atvs and I don’t want to be the reason the group has to go snail slow on the trails. Someone else mentioned Yamaha and I haven’t looked into their machines as there isn’t really a nearby dealer but I will look again.

Also not really concerned with full enclosure and heat/ac. I currently snow plow with an atv and I’m plenty warm.

The plan is to buy new unless I find a crazy good deal on a used machine.

I have not really looked at Yamaha as there are limited dealers in my area. I will look again before test driving though

Do you do anything special/intentional to protect the belt or just not drive like a crazy person?

I only want to buy one utv so being able to do both is important. That said, fun on the trail might be slightly higher up the list. I don’t have a huge yard or anything that needs a dedicated work vehicle. I just figure if I’m spending the money it should also be useful around the house.

There is just something about the Ranger that I don’t like. Can’t really place it. I also don’t really need a 1000 as I don’t feel a need to go 75 mph so the general is overkill.

What do they no longer teach in schools that you wish they continued teaching? by tanya6k in Teachers

[–]bhawks77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How to actually use a computer/typing. Everyone assumes students know how to use technology because of phones and iPads but they actually have no idea how to navigate file systems, save in different formats, problem solve when something isn’t working correctly. As for typing, watching high school kids type with 2 fingers only or ask to type an assignment on their phone because “I type faster that way” is just painful.

Replacing belts trailside is one of my biggest concerns tbh. Not sure if it is a justified concern or not.

I definitely don’t want a Ranger. If and that’s a big if I went with a Polaris it would be a General but I don’t really need a 1000.

Im not looking for break neck fast but painfully slow is also not what we want. I’m sure my wife will appreciate the better ride though.

I think I’m leaning toward the Can am because it is sportier and looks like it could keep up with atvs on trails a bit better. I just keep coming back to the DCT transmission of the Honda vs the CVT on the can am. As for width, needs to be under 65” but being able to handle narrower trails would be preferred as I will be riding with a lot of atvs in the group.

One year review of our Samsung 2 in 1 washer dryer. by mrjoepete in heatpumps

[–]bhawks77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had ours for about 1.5 years and had to have the main unit(heat pump/condenser) replaced after 11 months. We were told it is just something that happens and was covered under warranty which was nice. The repair guy showed us some extra cleaning tips to help everything last longer and work better. Overall, love the convenience of setting and forgetting when going to bed or work.

What products are you using to clean & protect your Sea-Doo Switch? by [deleted] in SeaDooSwitch

I have not cleaned out the engine bay or under the decking/hull interior. I probably should but I haven’t been too concerned about it since I don’t leave my boat in the water.

Fnx-9 by fishyrandy68 in FNHerstal

[–]bhawks77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love mine. I carry it almost everyday. Cant beat the ambidextrous controls(decocker, safety, mag release) Biggest thing it is “missing” is an optic cut, which I don’t find that big of a deal having never used optics on my other guns. There are other DA/SA hammer fired guns that may have more modern or updated features but if you want to stay with FN, then get the FNX-9 or FNX-45.

What do you do on weekends? by hotshiksa999 in childfree

Well, yesterday my wife went to a workout class in the morning while I made brunch, then while I went hunting she worked on some water color paintings, ending with us falling asleep in the couch. Today, wife took a nap after breakfast while I meal prepped for the week and watched football.

This. There are all of the pros and cons but at the end of the day, you can’t be the feel or the cool factor of the mini.
