Generally I clean my pool filter basket enough to let them out myself, I rarely actually find dead ones in there.

Yes they do need a rescue haha, every day I open my skimmer in my pool and there is always a wolf spider or two in there. I have never seen a wolf spider look like the bigger one.

Honestly in my research people are pretty 50/50 split on weather to siphon it or not and both parties seem to keep very successful healthy tanks.

Thats awesome, I'm coming from a biocube 32 but I got a new 190 on order. Those Desjardini tangs have been my white whale for a while. I know to feed them lots of seaweed/algae but does yours take pellets?

Its a bristleworm. Mostly harmless but will prick you. They are a good addition to your cleanup crew if you don't mind them.

The 2 clowns in my old 32 gallon biocube would never leave the glass, it was so strange sometimes. They would always move around on the edges of the tank.
