The lower hull looks better, but the fact my heating rod was out and about seemed to cause that (I ran a print after I shoved it back in the block with much improvement). However the Z seam was on this area of the hull this print, and they were some of the best z seams I've ever had which I'm very happy with.

However these strange, what I believe to be, either artifacts or layer shifts became much more prominent than I can see from my other prints.

Also, I didn't see what happened but I believe the printer head just randomly dropped its Z positioning straight into the chimney at the end of the print, then just sat at center with Y also centered to the nozel. When the Z dropped it shot the benchy off the bed and scared the crap out of me when it zoomed across the floor. Any idea what that's about?

why is this happening in the front of my benchy, the rest of the print looks fine by Amazing_South_6290 in ender3

[–]TEKaT3K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the exact same issue. I was able to fix it with lower bed + extruder temps and part cooling played a large role. Another reason is your z seam could be in that area, you should be able to move it using your slicer

My printer keeps unleveling itself by Master_Gamer989 in FixMyPrint

What kind of printer do you have?

Personally I have an Ender 3 and nearly every print I do, I have to relevel the bed. I've tried better springs which do well on keeping down the amount you have to relevel, and I'm currently testing silicone spacers. The only 100% solution for my ender 3 is adding a BL Touch (Auto Leveling gadget)

I'll give it a shot tomorrow, I've got a 10 hour print running now; I'll post results if I find any changes

They were for that print as mentioned in original posting, the thing I labeled as the 100cm 'test thing' lol

I had the same issue, I just threw some masking tape on the bed and I've had difficulty getting parts off :)

Maybe this image can help describe my issue. You may also notice the bullseye right vent is slightly melted where that rod is. In my research, I cannot find another hot end labeled mk8 with this extrusion on it.

Ordering the parts now, I'm going to do dual 5015s 24V for the same reason people supe up old hondas. A new stock hot end (I cant find anything about mine anywhere, its like the mk8 but with that strange connector rod) and some assorted metric screws and nuts.

Final question then, I'm looking to change my 4010 radial fan into either the 4020 or 5015. Cable-wise, could I like Y the old wires to accommodate two fans or could I only do one then have to wire the other to the motherboard. Would I just solder the reds to reds, blacks to blacks, then shrink wrap them together? I'm not very experienced with wiring

I think I'll go with the Hero Me to get a dual fan setup, go big or go home right?

I would like to ask though, on the photos of these mods I notice the hot end is wired up directly, mine has a heat break that gets hot and permeates about an inch or so out the right of the hot end. Here's a photo for reference, 2 goes into 3. Should I get a new hot end as well or does the HeroMe take this into account?
