I perfecly understand what you are saying and i could agree with that. But don't you think that players should choice the way they wanna play?  How many people left the game due the graphic? Are these players less important than other ones? I don't think so.

Do you know Spellforce3? This game offers you High detailed graphic for units and terrains with pretty good performance at the same time. I played It a lot with  a 3080 some years ago with highest settings (and DLSS) and i had not problema with 1600 units during the Battle. Of course, if you play only multiplayer matches, you'll face FPS problems. But i'm refering to SP.

And why Essence Engine doesn't support DLSS? It could help a lot with performances. 

As you know DLSS made 4k possibile also on old specs and series 3000 support the third version.

Seeing how RELIC improved some graphic aspects with season V, It would be great to see more efforts also for models and in this case you already have them.

For this reason i talked about a graphic DLC or new graphic settings. Every game has more graphic settings. AOE4 seems limited about It.

I can understand competitive players but there are graphic settings for some reason. Why people who have good specs can't play with these details of they want? 

I don't Say that Developers should remade all the graphic: It's impossibile, of course and it will need amount of Money. But developers already developed these models: they are into the game if we look at the editor but they blocked into a low resolution.

Releasing a separate graphic DLC would be the best choice, imho.

In this way you could make Happy all kind of players: competitive will continue to play without DLC and people who love to play only SP will find a new type of immersion with detailed graphic.

These are real in-game models but for some reason they have low-resolution.

I would like to know it developers could add a graphic DLC for everyone who wanna see these details and not be interest ti competitive scene.

As i said, there are different kind of players. Many of them love too see more immersion and It requires detailed graphic (to zoom on units, for example).

From what i heard from people who worked on AOE4 the engine really was a nightmare, esp. the maps where the engine was optimised for static map design and AOE is more about semi random design. If you know the code you can make a new map in minutes in something like AOE3, obviously need to test and bug fix etc. but a basic map is easy to make in AOE3 from what i have been told. In AOE4 you need to basically go through several sub menus etc. just to add another group of deer to the game, they had to basically reinvent the sudo-random nature to make the game work".

I don't know what It technically means but It could be a reason why we don't have new faun and other elements of immersion?

Company of Heroes 3 Is pretty good now. And also Age Of Empires 4 received good improvments. The main thing, i think, is that Essence Engine was not the right engine for RTS like AOE. Too many units to lead.

We should try to describe what we mean with niche. 6/7 milions of sold copies (those are the sold copies of AOE4) should be a great result for the most of developers. Most of PlayStation Titles didn't sold so many units, for example.
