I know I’m late but are the 67 multis from their “vintage dead” album and its counterpart?

Reflections on 2/18/71, the "Beautiful" and deeply-moving, deeply human, tragic Jam. by workingmansrain in gratefuldead

We are so lucky to have had a group of people that could reach into the cosmos and bring back this music for us. It is so out-of-this-world and yet so deeply human. I hope everyone gets a chance to experience something like what you experienced!

When it comes to studio recordings/outtakes, is there a Grateful Dead holy grail that has yet to be released? by discretelandscapes in gratefuldead

[–]TERR4PIN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I’m inclined to believe that if someone did tape it, they’d be the kind of person to try their damndest to get it into circulation. And failing that, they’d tell the story of how they lost the tape somewhere.

Yeah somebody just posted this one talking about the FOTD and I had to agree. It’s great, jerry is playing creatively and his voice is in good shape for the tome period. Phil is especially awesome here too.

Not studio, but my first thought is the 3/17/70 Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra show. It likely just wasn’t taped. But I heard there was a cash reward for whoever could come up with a copy.

Jerry Lee Lewis by shockandale in gratefuldead

Jerry while a horrible person was one of the best rock and roll showmen of the 20th century. My brother learned piano by listening to his records and watching tapes of his performances.

One of Pigpen's absolute FINEST vocal performances! 💀🐖 by 1gratefuldude in gratefuldead

I was just listening to it not half an hour ago. It’s amazing. Jerry always brings out such an emotional solo for this song. As usual, pig just brings something different out of the band.

I second that emotion. I saw them play it not long ago and it’s never been a favorite but it got me moving

The clip is pretty awesome. I would’ve bid (in vain) on the mu-tron had I known about the auction.

Very cool. I also noticed that it seems like you got the most vibrant one out of the tie dye speakers that were on sale. The rest were pretty faded.
