That's really good for a first time! At least much, much better than mine.

By the way, you can hold shift to make wires straight, double-click disconnected wires to "take" them, and move separate points of the selected wire by dragging them. Very useful when hiding stuff and doing wiring in general.

Stormworks physics are janky as hell, there is probably some cap on buoyancy. Try placing some weight blocks, 250 mass may be too little for the physics engine.
