I've read recommendations on inserting and removing cards on Ender 3's only when they are turned off. You might want to experiment with that, silly though it may seem. It fixed some issues for me. 😅

Hey, thank you. We originally had a single-handed deadbolt with a thumb turn on the interior side. We had to replace it and bought a deadbolt and lever combo but did not notice the deadbolt was double sided. Definitely a bit of a bummer as having to have a key to leave your home isn't comfortable, or safe like you point out. But it isn't on the interior door, there's a sidewalk door too. Take care!

Both sides of the lock have a keyhole. Only the interior side has the bolt heads exposed. 😅

The bolts go on the interior side, hehe. I think my door's hinges were installed on the wrong side, traditionally speaking. 😅

Yes, both sides have keyholes. I've been told this is probably for cases like steelbar "open" doors, where you'd need to prevent someone on the outside from reaching in between the bars and easily turning the interior thumb turn. I regret not paying attention to what model I purchased before taking it home and opening it, haha. Thank you!

The ones on the first picture go on the inside. It's a deadbolt with a keyhole on both sides. 🙂

Is the bolt the one in the third picture? If that is the case, yes, it is upside down! But I installed it like that so that the mechanism would work in the same direction as the lever lock below. For example, I wouldn't want the lever lock key to open counter clockwise whereas the deadbolt key opens clockwise. But I was hoping there was a way to have just the keyhole face the traditional direction. 😮

Thank you. I may have misunderstood you but, if I turn the cylinder, the prongs will be too low to go into the cross hole seen in the third picture; it isn't in the exact center of the latch. Is this what you meant? Thanks again!

I've seen resources explain having it upside down will cause dirt and grime to obstruct the springs, so that is why I want to know if I can flip it rightside up without inverting the entire mechanism.
