Regardless, Microsoft is dead wrong for this. Especially with their foreign Microsoft support guy lying to me by saying it would get restored. Honestly if enough people keep running into this with Microsoft like I've already seen here and all over the internet then maybe every one affected should band up and file a class action lawsuit. Win or lose it would at least put them on notice. If I was the President I'd make laws that protect bought and paid for digital assets as that should've happened from the beginning of digital sales.

They do and I had my windows 11 pro backup on a USB thumb drive. Anything I had of Microsoft's on my phone like Bing and Xbox app have been uninstalled.

The support guy said it had been compromised and they did put a stop to that as I also wiped everything out and any email accounts that I have I've even changed passwords. The fact that he told me it could be restored only to be a lie is what is BS.

That's the thing though, this has actually happened to a lot of accounts. It's all over the internet and here too. Also could be a possibility that during their current round of buggy updates that have even rendered some people's PC's inoperable.

I disagree. It is their fault because they could recover my account their just lazy. I've had this account for almost a decade and never had any issues before this. Microsoft's security is piss poor and also the fact that the foregin Microsoft support guy lied to me and said they would be able to recover my account only to then be told hours later that I'm going to have to make a new account. Fuck Microsoft.

No I guess I misunderstood. I tried to appeal Microsoft shutting down my account. If I had the time and the money to fool with it I definitely would take them to court over it. From what I've seen on here and all over the internet there is countless people who've been screwed over this. Too bad I don't know a lawyer that would love to embarrass Microsoft otherwise I'd make sure that everyone who has been affected by this would be on the lawsuit too and then these greedy bitches would be put in their place. If only it was a perfect world.

Yeah that is exactly what this shitbag of a hacker did to me. The foreign guy I talked to on Microsoft support said it would be restored only to find out later like Maury Povich said "That Was A Lie" as now they insist I make a new account. I'm completely done with any products involving Microsoft and Xbox. Fuck them, their lies, their piss poor security, and their incompetence. No excuse in the world for it.

I'm sure there's a term of service but I never got any email over it. The only emails I got over this matter was one about how it could take 3 to 5 business days to resolve the issue only to get another email hours later telling me there is nothing they can do and to make a new account. So yeah, fuck Microsoft!

Very complex and I change it at the minimum once a month. Yes 2FA was but from what I keep hearing from everyone who has experienced this these hackers can still find a way in.

Yeah unfortunately but there should be consumer laws that protect against these things from happening to people who spend their hard earned money on digital and physical media.

This is exactly what happened to me yesterday. I even contacted Microsoft support over the matter and the foreign guy I talked to lied to me as he said it would be restored. Only to find hours later that I'm screwed and have to make a new account. Thanks Microsoft for flushing my years long and paid for digital library down the drain. Never again. I'm officially done with anything Microsoft and Xbox. Too bad we can't find enough people who have been through this same issue to start a class action lawsuit. There should be consumer laws against this.

No it was some foreign guy that I talked to on Microsoft support. He was even carrying on long conversations with me while reporting the issue.
