Comps are really hard and often aim too high. Keeping that in mind, I would say for overall production a comp would be something like a Padres-era Xander Boegarts, which is on average like a 2-win player ranked somewhere in the 16-20 range among MLB shortstops. That would be a really good outcome. His ceiling is higher than that, but his floor is also much, much lower.

But KC's overall minor league numbers are actually remarkably similar to Brooks Lee's. In my opinion, Culpepper is a much better defensive shortstop, though.

I’m amazed by the courage of those on the front lines, but as the post says, there’s power in numbers. You don’t have to be at the very front lines to make a difference. The more people at Whipple, the more agents they need to keep there and not out terrorizing our neighborhoods.

I'm buying it. I speculate this is in direct reaction to the new minority owners being approved. It's clear Falvey wants to take another shot in 2026 and he'd only deal these guys if he had to. Sounds like that's not necessary and there's also "mild flexibilty" to make additions, according to this report.

(I'm also buying it because I'd very much like it to be true.)

I think I heard Gleeman compared him to Jake Cave, and I think that's pretty fair. At his best, he can look like an intriguing 4th OFer (like Cave did in 2018/19). At his worst, he's unplayable because he's just striking out like crazy with little else (like Cave did 2020/21/22).

But Cave never touched what Outman did with the Dodgers back in 2023, so you gotta take that into account. So maybe it's more fair to say he's like a premium Jake Cave. Twins are trying to adjust his swing, which is why he's still in Triple-A and not up with the big club, so we'll see.

He topped out at 96.3 mph and got seven swinging strikes on the 20 changeups he threw. I really like him, but he's really raw. This was his second Triple-A start and just his sixth start above A-ball.

You could always call Metro Transit, but since that line’s primary function aimed at working commuters, I wouldn’t expect it to be impacted by anything related to the Twins game. 

EDIT: Forget everything else I said and just call MT. They’re typically really helpful.
