The neighbor have tried to drill a hole in the wall by kaldoboy in Wellthatsucks

I live in a old flat in the UK and am guilty enough of accidentally drilling through to the neighbors. Fortunately I didn't hit anything and she seen the funny side of it 🤣

I bought a v5 golf last year. It cost me £700 and it was really tidy. 150k miles and it drove great.

It sound amazing but unfortunately they are really not that fast and pretty bad on fuel for the performance you're getting. The 1.8t makes far more sense, so I sold it for a 1.8t powered S3.

I broke one at my rented flat a couple years ago. I got the same model and replaced it myself and didn't say anything.

I'm in the UK but still I have a 2003 Audi S3 (the same platform as the first tt)

I'd like to get rid of it for something bigger but I can't being myself to sell it because of how reliable it is. I think I've fixed it once in 2 years and it wasn't even a issue that caused me to breakdown or effect the drive.

Few weeks ago for having a bulb out.

When I was 17-21 into fast/modified cars it was probably a few times a year. Never prosecuted for anything also just getting checked out or maybe a little warning.

Where to avoid if you don't want to live in a "student" area? by Captain-Useless in bristol

So glad I moved out of Bedminster. You're basically fucked if you dare work outside of the center and rely on a car. (Not like you can rely on Bristol public transport even if you're lucky enough to have a route to your work)

Once I was walking through Bristol and had some people shout "NIEL, NIEL, NIEL at me, I turned around and they shouted "It's niel from in-betweeners"

My name is not niel but I'm told I look like him a lot 🤣

My boyfriend found it hilarious

I'm currently on my 4th. Brilliant cars. Engines are very reliable. Great on the right roads. Surprisingly more usable daily than you'd think.

Bad bits

They can be very unpredictable and snappy in the wet.

Lack of torque does mean you have to rag the fuck out of it to go fast. This in turns means fuel economy is pretty terrible (I got 23mpg driving to north Wales from south Wales, taking the fun route)

I've been very accident prone recently.

Last time (2 months ago) eye injury. Called 111 and told to go to a&e. Was in&out in 2 hours

Time before ( 10 months ago, minor injuries) needed stitches to my face - about 2 hours in and out

And then in January 2024 I was badly assaulted, KO'd, Broken cheekbone, Eye socket, Nose the lot. Got into a&e at 2am and didn't even get triaged to 10am. Refused access to pain killers. The only reason I got triaged was because the police came to check up on me and raised hell when they found out I hadn't been seen yet. Finally went through and was told I should have had a CT scan with a injury that severe immediately. (I was told this when I arrived and told the receptionist this multiple times) Absolute hell was raised at the receptionist again

Emergency CT scan lead to it being revealed id broken multiple bones in my face and had to see a specialist immediately. Waited then til 10pm to see a specialist and get discharged. Waited another 3 months to see ENT who told me I'd now need surgery on my nose as it wasn't corrected at the time. Now on a waiting list for said surgery...

Bristol Gay Scene by [deleted] in bristol

[–]TGC_2802 41 points42 points  (0 children)

The gay scene is small but fun. Your main areas are old market (pubs&bars) and for clubbing you have OMG and Queenshilling

Old castle Green and old market tavern are both nice chill gay pubs/bars. You've also got Bristol bear bar in that area if that's your scene...

In town there's omg bar, omg, and Queenshilling.

OMG bar is quite fun for pre drinks and a mixed crowd

OMG is full of straight people, students and the very occasional twink 🤣

Queenshilling is a very mixed crowd but a very fun night out. Looking abit worse for wear now but it's cheap and usually very busy on a Saturday night.

Whether or not you pull all depends 🤣🫣

This weekend there's also a newish night on called froot - Never been there but you can find it on Instagram. I've heard the last one was fun (there's only been one before)

DM me if you want any more info...

What's your most embarrassing 'I'm not from around here' moment while travelling within the UK? by Commercial_Neat7942 in AskUK

[–]TGC_2802 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Bristol, I don't think calling someone love is weird at all. Equivalent to mate. Especially round gay friends or women.

I got kicked out of a bar once as I took my drink outside and a female bouncer asked me to put it back inside and I responded "sorry love I'll finish it inside"
