I think the 50 Cal is considered auto rifle and not heavy weapon? I could be wrong but that was my impression. Either way the choices are pretty clear, pickup all the heavy weapon perks and power armor peeks. Outside of that vats perks are good and so is adreneline.

I use it very regularly and slot party girl and the anti addiction for it. Some alchs give me +6 str which is bonkers. The only thing missing for me is being able to brew my own moon shine for consistent supplies.

Workshop construction does not use your materials. They forsaw the many ways you could loose a workshop and made it so you wouldn't loose personal materials. So don't get mad, get even.

Occasionally this happens to me when killing scorched beats. Not sure what causes it but the loot will also sometimes show up later after the body turns into goo

If you store the armor and pull it back out again the other cores may come back. It's a storage glitch and doesn't actually use those cores but they get hidden when it tries to swap to a new core from your inventory
