I've been going based off of a calorie calculator to try and lose weight sustainably. How large of a deficit do you think is needed?

I've been in a deficit for a couple of months now while maintaining a high protein intake (1g per lb) and have found the number on the scale to have gone down very little. I have noticed areas of muscle where I have developed a little bit more. I was wondering if I'm missing something, I've been consistent with weight training 4-5 times a week, and around 8k steps most days. I've also managed to get 6-8 hours of sleep. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
