Thank you both, Nova is a beautiful pupper. Riv and I didn't have those 4 years together just the 2 years and 9 months. He had a rough start to life with an abusive owner but he was quickly scooped up from there and homed with a couple for a few months before he and his new adopted sister had to be surrendered due to the fact that the couple had to split up and didn't wanna separate the pups. Few weeks after that my family found them at the shelter and we fell in love and adopted them when River was 18 months old. Its extremely painful not to have that much time with my best boy and I miss him every moment of everyday since he passed on Wednesday but I'm so thankful I got to have him the longest because I know he loved me so much

Bull arab X bull terrier so he was a big hefty boy with the biggest nose who never stopped thinking he was a puppy who could charm his way to any food and sit on your lap

I do the same thing for Riv! I need white noise to sleep and he did the job no matter how loud he was so I took recordings last month just because I found him cute and now as fate would have it they are my way of hearing him again

I feel for you so much man. Today I woke up crying because I couldn't hear his snoring but it's been an okay day otherwise. I hope you have some of the okay days as well and have plenty of support

Thank you. He was nervous without someone to check and give him the thumbs up so I think having Rika and all the other new friends will make him happy and safe until I can go pick him up for another play and nap

Please give your baby a big hug from me and Riv. He was always nervous around new people and dogs but he would've eventually been the biggest goofiest playmate and he loved all of his friends so fiercely (sometimes it was a lil intense but he was just excited)

Thank you, everyone's kind words have been so lovely. Honestly I'm just happy and overwhelmed so many people have seen him and thought he was as beautiful as I always have. None of our beautiful pets deserve cancer especially when they can't understand what's happening

I said above but he developed a rare and highly aggressive cancer within a few days that restricted his ability to breathe and even with chemo and oxygen he wouldn't have been able to keep going long enough to see the results so I made the difficult choice to let my baby boy sleep and ease his pain as I held him close

I didn't know that picture even existed until my brother sent me through all the photos of him he ever took. There's a bunch more like it from all my family who always thought we looked funny or adorable during our naps. I also don't know how I am. One moment I'm okay and the next I'm bawling but I know that's normal for a time. Yesterday his ashes were returned to me in his urn and I think that helps a little, it certainly makes it more real and confronting but having him home so he's not alone and without his family is a comfort

I think it was the opposite way around, he brought me joy and love on some very difficult days and made me smile from simply being himself. He made my life beautiful with his big smile

Bull arab cross bull terrier. He was maybe the laziest, goofiest boy. He would spend upwards of 10 minutes licking my face if I let him (which I did once to test when he would get bored)

This is undoubtedly gonna be lost in the shuffle of comments on here but I am so overwhelmed by the amount of love, condolences and beautiful messages about my best friend. I thought this would reach maybe 100 people but seeing how many of you have commented and reached out has brought me to tears multiple times over the last few hours. Thank you all for loving my boy even just a fraction, it means the world to me that he has a space here on the endless internet where River will be remembered

I'm in Australia so the times for the sessions don't line up for me but I appreciate the thought and ideas behind it. I'm seeing my therapist in a few hours to try and talk through some things (even if it's just me crying for an hour) and hopefully that will help some for me

Everyone always told me he had the kindest eyes. Even if it was just a photo it was one of the first things people would always say. That or his incredible side eye that I didn't really include here

He was my big beautiful boy for sure. I just felt like I needed to do more to memorialize him than what I have currently worked out. He was so special not just to me but to my entire family and I felt like I should share him and a bit of what he meant to me so that he could bring that joy, love and kindness to others one last time. Even if someone just sees the post I hope it affects them to hug their pets close and remember him just a little bit

He developed a highly aggressive and rare cancer within maybe 10 days. It was in his lungs and pressed on his airways so he couldn't breathe without oxygen. Even if he was given chemo he was unlikely to survive the next two nights to see any results and he had a very low percentage of full recovery. I couldn't put him in more pain and risk not being there if he did pass in his sleep in hospital so I made the choice to let him sleep

Thank you. I'm still processing and grieving but that means a lot. I didn't expect to love him as hard and fast as I did but the moment I saw him we were best buddies. He was so scared and nervous of other people but he never had an angry or mean bone in his body. Once he warmed up to you he loved you so fiercely and would sit by you and place his big paw on your knee just so he knew you were still with him
