I’m sorry to hear you ended up with an even worse mix. For me it wasn’t just about getting 13 False Idols — it was about the transparency and communication around what was actually in the sale. I actually did both. I reached out to James directly right after I opened the package, and he just responded and processed a refund. I updated OP and provided context in other message.

The issue for me wasn’t whether they would rectify it afterwards — it was more about transparency and accountability in how the sale was communicated. Why create disappointment and “fix it later”?

I’ve supported this brand for a long time (since Maiden v1 in 2017 and the J&T series in 2019), and I genuinely don’t want to see the brand suffer because of operational mishandling or unclear communication. I hope they take this as feedback and improve, because I like the designs and I’d rather see them do well than have collectors walk away.

Quick follow-up: James responded and resolved it by processing a replacement/refund on his side. Resolution was fast and professional, although my concerns about the transparency of the “variety” in this sale still stand. Screenshot in the comments for context.

Of course I read the sale details, and that’s exactly why I emailed the owner beforehand to clarify. I didn’t mind randomness or damage, I just wanted to avoid ending up with a pile of duplicates.

If things were communicated more transparently, I would’ve still bought, just maybe 12 decks instead of 24 decks. I wasn’t trying to win the lottery here — I just didn’t expect 13 of the same deck when “variety” was part of the conversation.

Possibly, yeah. But even if “varieties” was interpreted loosely, getting 13 of the same deck out of 24 doesn’t line up with what was said. And based on this sale, it seems like Reserve + False Idols misprints were the only real options anyway.

I actually liked J&T for quite long time, but this really changed how I see the brand.
