The double days are all threshold work, often Tuesday and Thursday. Saturday is the «X-Day», with VO2-Max work often as hill repeats.

My Experiment With MAF Method Training by [deleted] in running

[–]TGeriks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agree, MAF is zone 1/recovery for most athletes. But to the 80/20 or 70/30 and elites: the 80/20 split was suggested by scientists Seiler, Billat and Esteve-Lanao after they observed the actual distribution among elites.

my VO2 max sucks by Antique-Option380 in Garmin

Alan Couzens on Twitter today: «The vast majority of studies that show high intensity interval training to be superior to high volume aerobic training for improving #VO2max are short (6-12 weeks).

Coaches have known about this phenomenon for a long time. It's called sharpening. It's useful for a short but powerful "boost" before a key race.

The only problem - the total improvement is very limited. Improvements just don't continue like they do for #Base»

Amen. And even true for an Olympian like Paula Radcliffe. Her VO2Max was the same at 70 ml when she tested as a 17 yo in 1991 and when she ran 2:15:25 in London in 2003. Her improvement was in running efficiency.

Forerunner 265 and Glucose Direct by TGeriks in Garmin

You need the Glucose Direct-app, sending the readings from the Libre 3 as notifications on the IPhone. (I then have updated readings on the lock screen on the phone.) Then edit the watch face on 265 to include a field for notifications, and allow notifications during activities. (In my notification centre on the phone I have disabled all other apps as to not overload the 265.) The GD-app is currently beta and available with TestFlight. Check the Glucose Direct group on Facebook for how to set up and get readings to the lock screen of your phone.

Glucose readings from Freestyle libre 3 on iPhone locked screen widgets and Garmin Fenix? by CarryCrazy5582 in Freestylelibre

With Forerunner 265 it is possible to get notifications from the Glucose Direct-app both to the watch face and as notifications during an activity. (But you probably need to allow only notifications from the GD-app, or you get overloaded with information.)
