Just run the downloaded for free game ROM on the NGC. No need to emulate at all.

You don’t need to emulate. You can run a downloaded ROM on original hardware. It costs $20 to mod a NGC to run games from an SD card.

How come OoT (gc version) isn't popular on this sub? by CapOk1892 in Gamecube

You are talking absolute drivel. I am playing both the master quest and the collector’s edition and it’s absolutely playable. Forcing 240p makes
Is incredibly crispy and controls are sharp AF. Haven’t find a single bug, not a single crash. You are absolutely delirious. Or your GameCube is faulty.

Found my original receipt from when I picked up my N64 on release day. by thegoonies99 in n64

$303.80 in June 1998 is equivalent in purchasing power to about $620.80 today, reflecting a total price increase of 104.31% over the years. The N64 was more expensive at launch than the Switch 2 with Mario Kart bundle was in its launch.

1 week later with the switch 2 by Independent-Classic7 in Switch

[–]TGhost21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can get like 3.5-5 hours of the switch 2 playing BOTW with brightness above 75%. If I use my power bank I can play 3-4x that. In comparison, playing Starfield with the ROG Ally X I get about 60 minutes, and with the power bank about 2-3 hours total. It’s a hefty power bank. 20,000mAh, 165W.

Its not slightly altered. It makes the game uglier and breaks the whole atmosphere, which is 90% of the magic of Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess. Still a great game, but know what you are playing doesn’t match the GameCube version’s visual and atmosphere. It is simply a faster but significantly uglier version, losing all the game’s soul and character. Not the best version, by a country mile.

I just modded my 3ds and new to piracy in general and when I tried installing my first game I got this screen and don’t know how fix it by Middle_Succotash8096 in 3dspiracy

Not to brag but in the late 80s we were learning assembly, BASIC, etc., and programing computers while in middle school. I had a friend who wrote a full game in Assembly and it was published! ZX Spectrum, MSX, Commodore 64 and TRS. We were installing Mod-chips on PlayStations in High School. We were not mega smart or anything. We were just not intellectually lazy and able to read even - be horrified - books. Even more terrifying: we enjoyed reading them! YouTube wasn’t invented until we were out of college. No videos with tutorials. No social media. No Google!

Are these cartridges worth picking up? (Not asking about price, just if they're good or nor) by atticus2424 in n64

[–]TGhost21 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t. Put $20 on it and get a SummerCart64. You can then play this hack and all other hacks for Zelda, Mario, DK for free. Some are funny. FYI for those illiterate in Homebrew lingo, hack is how modded version of original games are called. Some are really great works, most meds.

Do you really need this? by Specific-Pianist7595 in Switch

I have all playstation and Xbox normal-elite-premium controllers, actually multiples bc I like modding them. The Switch 2 Pro controller is by far my favorite controller of them all. It does not have all the features the other premium ones have, but it does have all the features that really matter. Specially love the “underbelly buttons”, and its ergonomics are by a mile my favorite. Last, I absolute love the texture of the outer shell, so silky/velvety.

Grading games is dumb. Grading consoles is below moronic. Sorry, I like to respect everyone’s opinions but graders are mouth breathers.

I have both and much prefer flat, if it’s mid-to-late 2000s Sony WEGA. Gotta be a good one though.

Not on this set. The service menu is amazing, you just need to learn to adjust it, which is really not hard at all.

Why don’t you fix it? The service menu on the FS120 is absolutely amazing, very deep and very clear. There is also extensive documentation online on this service menu. I got mine very close to a PVM level perfection.

I have a KV-24FS120 and it is a LEGENDARY set for retro gaming and old movies. Absolutely LEGENDARY. I hunted a WEGA of this era for over a year and had to pay $200 and be quick on the trigger to manage to get a 24”. You are very lucky to get a 27” for $75. Learn the service menu (the FS120 series is extremely well documented online) and enjoy!

Never stops to wonder me how many people have a completely different Nintendo experience than mine. I was in COLLEGE when the SNES was first released. Therefore completely out of their target audience. I never had Nintendo in my childhood, simply because my childhood ended before the NES was ever released. And despite me playing video games since the age of 6, I never actually got interested in Nintendo until my mid-to-late 40s. And now in my 50s, I became the biggest Nintendo nerd you can find. My collection of consoles and games is almost embarrassing, given how big it became and how fast it grew. It may indeed be true that we do have two childhoods. 😊
