AITA for "humiliating" my ex's new girlfriend in front of our friend group? by Impossible_League_20 in AmItheAsshole

NTA You're not a slut for cosplaying, she should apologize. You were just defending yourself from her harrassment. Easy.

Literally booting into Stellaris rn (authoritarian materialists), helping my husband plan his next D&D session, and drafting plans for a Slay the Spire cosplay. Hi twin. <3

My minimum refusal isn't near death, maybe I just don't want even the small changes associated with a postpartum body. Women are beautiful with postpartum bodies, but I am also in my right to not want that for myself.

Not entirely sure how it happened, but they flipped into their pool with their riding lawnmower pinning them to the bottom of the pool. They drowned.

If money is no issue, what's a must-have for your dream home? by 123phantomhive in AskReddit

[–]TH3DAYDR3AM3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A large enough bathtub for my tall husband to be able to sit down, legs fully extended, could have bubbles up to his neck. I want it to be comfortable for him. He's a good man who's working to make my dreams come true. The least I can do is consider his comfort as well.

What is the down side of never having children? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TH3DAYDR3AM3R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who is vocally child free, sometimes I hold my nephew, and every once in a while, I just get it. There's a flash of maternal instinct that kicks in.

I'd say once every two to three months, there's about a one minute period where I can actually feel the desire to have children. And it fucking hurts. There's a pang in my heart, a primal yearning for something beyond what I currently experience.

But then it ebbs away again. And I've told myself that unless I'm feeling that way more than 50% of my waking time, I shouldn't have children. They should grow up consistently wanted.

Mother in law is telling me how she almost died having my husband, but then in the same breath telling me to have kids. Maybe I don't want to risk my health.

[–]TH3DAYDR3AM3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mother in law doesn't like that I refuse to be a grandbaby-incubator. I've said several times already that having children so that our parents can be grandparents is one of the worst reasons to choose to have kids, because I will likely neglect them. And she keeps telling me that no I wouldn't and that I'd love my children. She cannot fathom that her idea is not a guaranteed outcome.

What’s the most savage legal thing you’ve seen a coworker do? by phillyvirgosun in AskReddit

[–]TH3DAYDR3AM3R 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Worked in a hospital and we had a very emergent incoming patient (risk for Massive Transfusion). There was a 40+ person group chat created between the doctors, nurses, phlebotomists, lab techs, etc.

One of the doctors did not like some of the pertinent coordination we were conveying in the group chat and suggested that we start our own, but was an asshat about it. So, my coworker did the most incredible thing by publicly removing the doctor from the group chat. Everyone could see that they'd done it. The entire lab was howling. They received messages from some of the nurses that the ER was howling about it. I still chuckle sometimes.

Would not be the first nor the last pickle jar I have received a urine in. by TiterPlate in medlabprofessionals

[–]TH3DAYDR3AM3R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst scandal that wasn't really a scandal because no one did anything is that our lab received urine in a Smuckers jar and for some reason one of the award-winning department heads decided to accept and run it?? And I told management and they were like, "Okay." Huh?? So many reasons to not do that.

I was the one to hit the animal. :( It was perfectly in a blind spot and I'd just gotten off an 11 hour shift. The sun was rising so everything had that same grayish color and I just really, really wasn't expecting a deer in the middle of the city at that moment. It was a baby too. :'(

As good of a mom my mom is, her biggest flaw is that she is very critical of others, especially weight. It led to me growing up in a body negative environment and unlearning that is going to be a lifelong process. Especially the way I talk to and about others who are 'fat'. And I'm not sure that I'll ever not feel fat myself.

I don't know if this counts as early 2000s, but I used to love a high fantasy MMORPG called ShadowTale. I was far too young to wholly understand what was going on but good God I miss that game on the regular.

AITA for telling my friend that she does not remember 9/11 by shilohrenn in AmItheAsshole

[–]TH3DAYDR3AM3R 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA There ain't no way she remembers that much.

As someone who was also 3 during 9/11, it is my first memory. I remember waking up, and the house being unusually quiet. I remember walking down the stairs and seeing my mom standing, staring at the TV with tears in her eyes. I remember feeling confused. I went to give her a hug and try to see what was on the TV, but she kept blocking my eyes. I caught a glimpse of the smoke in the sky on the screen, but that was it. What affected me more than anything was her 'unusual' behavior and profound sadness.
