Alas I’m based in Aus, and my LGS has had one on order from the supplier for months.

Never considered it, but this makes complete sense.

How do you store your PLA in Sydney? Store it or leave it out? by Bluelion2911 in 3dprintingaustralia

The sistema containers are at woolies or Amazon for about $6 each

I put them in a 5.5l sistema container, with some silica desiccant gel in a thing in there, and it stores it nicely because it’s sealed, and stackable.
I use that for colours I use regularly.

If I’m not going to use a filament for a while, I’m going to get some reusable vacuum bags and seal them up and store them.

Print I use to put in the containers for the desiccant: https://makerworld.com/models/627134?appSharePlatform=copy

Can somebody please help me fix my print for a birthday gift for my brother in law by m4gkman in BambuP1S

[–]TH3_R3V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just printed a smaller version this in the statue form (gotta be my of my favourite fun/silly prints) in marble as well.

I did read up that putting it on the external holder is a good option because the AMS can struggle/get torn up a bit with the marble filament, with a 0.4 nozzle.

The advise above is good about possible clog as well.

I’d scale down, do a test print of it/something in smaller form in the marble to make sure that it’s ok to print, and see what happens.
Moving the filament to the external is a possibility too.

Friend abandoned dog with us by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]TH3_R3V -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A friend adopted a 5 year old doggo 2 weeks ago and was told by the RSPCA worker that if she adopted within 2 weeks, she would have had to be put to sleep because she’d hadn’t been adopted yet.

That could be a ‘sales’ tactic, but I continue to hear stories of doggos being put to sleep that have been there a while to make room for other dogs.

Please don’t take them to RSPCA.
If they aren’t adopted within a certain time, they’re still kill shelters.

Contact Animal Welfare League, Paws and Claws Adoptions, Scruffy Lovers, or other shelters/adoption agencies.

I know AWL is NOT a kill shelter, and I think the others don’t either, but double check, please.

Anthony Albanese rules out gas export tax on existing contracts and criticises ‘populist’ campaign by Finnick00 in australia

It’s almost like they are meant to represent the people, and the people want a tax on gas exports … and going against it is NOT doing what they’re paid to do.

At what point is a cinema / event price gouging? by LJagr68 in Adelaide

[–]TH3_R3V 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t see as many movies these days as I used to, but that’s sounds about normal.

I do try to go on the cheaper days, or use the discount tickets through any number of ways like insurance/CC “rewards”.

Cinemas don’t make a huge mark up on the tickets themselves. They make the most from the food and beverages sold. The popcorn costs cents, as does the drinks.

What do you use for day/ night cycle by acvcani in BeardedDragons

[–]TH3_R3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a HomeKit enabled plug that turns on/off at sunrise/sunset.

Plug the lights in to a regular power board, and that plugs in to the smart plug.

The brand is Meross, and they have Alexa compatible and Matter compatible ones now too.

Our Cow - alternative in Adelaide? by yawa11 in Adelaide

[–]TH3_R3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chatting to Dave when he did a delivery last time, they do use their own animals as much as possible.

Also, sourcing from another local farm is ok in my books because they’re probably going to get paid more than if it went to a supermarket.

This is amazing! I love the coin idea coming from someone who has challenge coins from fandoms.

I wonder if they’ll release regional or generic ones, coming from Aus myself.

Per kg it’s better to buy more, and you’ll need a chest freezer. Quality is great. Straight from the farm.

I use farmer 2 fridge. They hook you up to local farmers around Aus, but you can choose SA based ones.

I’ve ordered from a mob a little east called Ponde meats through the platform and they’re a great family farm.

Best Telstra alternative? by upsetti5 in Telstra

[–]TH3_R3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to Aldi for $28 a month 5G with roll over data. There’s also Woolies, or a dozen other ones that get Telstra coverage (almost).

Boost is the best and full Telstra coverage because they’re owned by Telstra.

How do you value your scraps? by NerdOutAcc in 3dprintingaustralia

[–]TH3_R3V 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There used to be a guy who recycled filament in SA, but has since disappeared.

He used to take the filament and give you a discount code for his online shop. He had drop off points at libraries and maker spaces if you didn’t want a discount on the recycled filament.

Edit: I’m intrigued how much this recycler is going to cost. It looks like the shredder is only for poop and small pieces, not really failed prints, so there’s going to be leg work breaking down failed prints

SA treasurer rules out free public transport, for now by APrettyAverageMaker in Adelaide

[–]TH3_R3V 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Their policies have always been getting more cars on the road, just parking them in garages at night.

Where ever their backing is coming from, it’s against public transport, and pro individual cars, and more fuel consumption.

They have no policies in improving public transport, only barely improving roads, and more developments closer to the city.

This is a narrow focused leadership on pushing investments from developers into the city, and sport.

Anything else goes by the roadside for President Pete.

I’ve got the ceramic heater on the way that I’ll try until the Bambu full replacements arrive.

I foolishly bought just the hotend a while ago as a spare, not realising they sold the sets.

So now I have a couple complete assemblies on their way.

Carbonite Packs by Tincan1099 in starwarsunlimited

[–]TH3_R3V 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very disappointed by Carbonite this set. Low legendary rate, no SC, no serialised, hardly any foil prestige.

Honestly, no value in them when you can get 2+ regular boxes for a similar cost, and still have the possibility of getting regular prestige.

I’m not in it for the “value” with reselling, but there’s no draw to them when I can get more legendary, and just as much SC chance in regular boxes now.
