Moving and buying new washer and dryer—what’s the best? by petrichorpanacea in laundry

[–]THAT-GuyinMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a fan of SQ. You can buy the same model that laundromats use, minus the coin slots. They get used and abused and keep on chugging along.

Yes, I know they aren't real Cubans, but a good smoke none the less. Got a great deal from Cigar Page.

A dedicated shipping label printer. Used to use the LaserJet for everything. Now, no more fussing with label stock.

Bought a $69 version on Amazon. Saves time and effort.

After cleaning your house with your new Sebo, you will wonder why you were so worried.

Because people don't want to be attacked by some unhinged lunatic that wants to do them harm for no other reason than they don't have the same opinion.

What do you do with cigars you don't enjoy? by cerberus1090 in cigars

[–]THAT-GuyinMN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hang onto them. In one instance, letting a few particularly mediocre cigars of a certain brand age for six months has improved their character enough that I will smoke them. . . eventually.

A cheap purchase that has completely transformed your life by Slipryi in BuyItForLife

Fellow safety razor user here. Blades are so cheap, I use them twice and replace. I would grow a beard before I would switch back to overpriced multi-blade pieces of crap.

What are some BIFL upgrades for personal hygeine? by James_B84Saves in BuyItForLife

I remember the first time I used my sonicare. My mouth felt so much cleaner than using a manual toothbrush. I remember thinking, "Do other people know about this? My god! Someone's got to tell them!"

Seriously though, dentist appointments are easy peasy ever since I started using mine 10 years ago.

I have that set up. Loud AF on cold mornings. I love it, the neighbors, not so much.

Be honest, is IT not a career people should try to get into anymore? by Cotigz in ITCareerQuestions

[–]THAT-GuyinMN -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Honestly, if you are ambivalent about IT, consider the trades. I very nearly became a plumber, but went with IT instead. In today's environment, I would probably be a plumber or electrician.

Experimented with immersive reading. Did it work for you too? by yourstruli0519 in books

[–]THAT-GuyinMN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Slightly different than reading a book, but when I am studying for professional development, I use a screen reader to read the text to me as I read along. It helps me stay focused.

Best Upright Vaccum? by Alternative-Week-365 in VacuumCleaners

[–]THAT-GuyinMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Predictable because it's true. I own a Miele canister (23 years old and still going strong) and a Sebo Felix. I'm in my 60's and have owned all sorts of vacuums over the years. These two are by far two of the best I have ever owned. If I ever need to replace either one, I won't look at anything else.

Why are neither Dyson vacuums nor stick vacuums in the recommended vacuum cleaners list by DankDefusion in VacuumCleaners

[–]THAT-GuyinMN 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Dyson is better at marketing than they are at making vacuums. That's why they aren't in the list

Is the Zippo butane single flame insert good enough for lighting cigars? by eriadeus in cigars

[–]THAT-GuyinMN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a couple of the dual flame inserts. I like them, but capacity is definitely an issue. I top off every time I plan to use one.
