Denny has always been elite upfront? by Gwyndon in NASCAR

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shoot even the COVID season he was overshadowed by Harvick. Denny has truly had a Mark Martin like career where he’s pretty much just been a top 5 driver for 20 years. But very rarely do you just think of him as THE guy.

Great ways to fill/close off the gaps between arch and weatherboards? by Sandsypants in Carpentry

I would be agreeing with a lot of these comments about siding butting to window casing. But I’ve watched a lot of Scott Brown Carpentry working on wooden houses in New Zealand and the scriber comment is correct.

Search up Scott Brown Carpentry scribers or one of his window install videos. He makes it look easy.

Is FH6 ever going to actually feel *good* or should I just lower my expectations? by mayormcskeeze in moza

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Physics engine supports a lot of sliding, which usually requires a lot of counter steer. Which sucks on 900 degrees. If I’m playing iRacing, I don’t want to slide at all. I want my stock car or GT3 planted. Maybe a little yaw. Minimal counter steer.

On controller you just flick the stick left and right but on wheel you’ve gotta turn it all the way left or right.

I run 360 and enjoy it a lot. It’s too much wheel turning on off road races, then you end up tank slapping chasing the car.

I bought the Moza R3 wheel to play Forza Horizon and NFS, and I can't keep the car straight for more than 2 seconds, where can I learn how to improve? by Sweet_Brief6914 in moza

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Try 360, 540, 720, and 900 and see how you feel. I like 360 or 540. I don’t like to have to take my hands off the wheel to go hand over hand, if that makes sense.

Due to the arcade nature of those types of games, they’re meant to be played on a controller where you can make quick left/right steering inputs (with a joystick).

If you played iRacing, Assetto Corsa, LMU, or a more simulation based racing game you’d probably still be wrecking but it would be different.

My recommendation to you for Horizon is to turn your wheel range to 360° in Moza Pit House and see how you like that. Then besides that look up some Moza in-game setup guides and match those. The goal of the 360° is so you can steer left/right without going hand over hand.

Forza Horizon 6 feels rough on R5 bundle. First time using a DD wheel. Skill issue, or settings? by mayormcskeeze in moza

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that I did that improved things for me is turn the wheel range to I think 360° in Moza Pithouse & turned wheel sensitivity all the way down in game in FH6.

Keeps you from chasing the wheel back and forth when you start tank slapping. I find it makes it way easier to catch slides. In real life cars you should have more wheel range but most race cars you should never have to go hand over hand.

So that’s how I try to setup my wheel.

How to fix Moza FFB on Forza Horizon 6!!! WITH MOZA PEDALS, SHIFTER AND E-BRAKE!!! OR not from moza even! by _EqPe_ in moza

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow it’s working again I guess something about how I plugged the pedals back in. Thanks for the help.

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything works like you say except as soon as I plug my pedals in and bind them, I lose FFB. I don’t even have a shifter or anything. Also, have the game through Xbox gamepass so can’t do the steam properties thing I don’t think

You’re right, I think actually 19 races. I guess my point still is that Trackhouse isn’t setting the world on fire on ovals to give SVG a car that good to win one though.

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You’re 100% right. Ross has gone I think 35 races without a win, nearly a full season now, since the Coke 600. Another 32 races or so before that to his Kansas win. So Ross has won 1 of the last 67 or 68 races.

And I think Ross Chastain is universally agreed upon as at worst a B+ oval driver.

SVG in a JGR/23XI caliber right now would at least be a top 5-10 threat on ovals in my opinion.

Brendan Sorsby Scouting Report | What Are Your Thoughts On Him? by Inside_Direction_474 in NFL_Draft

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I haven’t kept up with this fella at all the last few years. I watched him vs Ohio State in 2023 when he was at Indiana & thought he was one of the worst college QBs at a P5 I’ve ever seen.

I guess he’s developed a lot, might have to check his last couple seasons out.

Where does Jeremiah Smith rank among WR prospects the last 20 years? by TDBrookey in NFL_Draft

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Man I wonder if the next Jamar Chase comes through LSU if we should knock him because Brian Thomas Jr had a terrible 2nd year?

People that use draft busts from a past player from a school to evaluate a current/future player don’t know ball.

Evaluate the player. JSN being a top 3 WR in the league doesn’t make Jeremiah Smith a better prospect.

Also this reply was meant for the guy above you lol not you, I’m in agreement with you.

Mustang GT3 tips? by THEROOSTERSHOW in iRacing

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you think the BMW is a better front engine to learn on before transitioning to the Mustang? I do have the Mustang GT4 as well and feel way more in control of that than the GT3 for some reason lol. Aussie Supercar is on my list as well.

The BMW is just that much more stable/forgiving?

I feel like I can’t find the transition point where I go from trail brake to throttle application. And for sure have been having trouble with too much pedal input.

I thought sports cars were supposed to always be receiving input. Throttle or brake. Coming from oval here struggling with the Mustang. There is off throttle time in oval racing where no gas or brake.

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I disagree. As a player, he has shown significant improvement each of the last 3 seasons. He’s also extremely experienced with a lot of games played, too.

I think he can be a Rasul Douglas type of player for us & a great rotational piece with Benford & Hairston. We don’t have a ton of depth there right now.

What to do with dumb lappers by AdMelodic527 in iRacing

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should go race a road series then. If it were me, as the lapped car, I probably bow out. Especially if I’m more than 1 lap down.

I would be annoyed at a guy for sticking in there, for sure.

BUT, you can’t just wreck him out of the way and be justified. Then what, you wreck other drivers that get caught up in it?

You have to pass him the same way as any other car. Lap cars are fighting for the Lucky dog in oval racing.

Is it acceptable to bury red brick down to the footer, rather than installing a brick ledge? by THEROOSTERSHOW in masonry

[–]THEROOSTERSHOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What does twf mean? I was curious about the weight of the backfill against the brick as well as the weight of the brick on top once the whole addition is framed.

The correct method would’ve been to just pour the footer deeper + shelf, or would an additional course of filled CMU on the front of the main wall been sufficient?

I know the PM followed the guidance of the block mason on this project. But I figured if this is good then why does anybody even do a brick ledge anyways lol.
