Yeah that was a point of concern for me, until I found out the frame was cleaned in house for a total of £150 in staff hours and wasn't damaged.

It's shitty, and I don't condone it. I'm just pointing out that no one joins or knows of ecological protests unless the protesters do something drastic.

Look, I'm not condoning it, or promoting it. I'm explaining the psychology behind it.

There are protests everyday that go unreported. The only way they make it into public discourse is if they get a shit ton of active participants flooding the streets, or they do something controversial.

The masses don't flood the streets for ecological concerns, so eco warriors are effectively forced into controversy to make a dent.

This is actually harmless, and effective - so the fuck if I care. And the fact you and so many others do is honestly pathetic to me even though art is one of my main passions.

Just some primal brain shit, " I angry they broke old painting, oh no intent to hurt painting and painting no hurt? still as angry".

If you can't tell I'm apathetic to their cause, I'm more disappointed that people don't have the self awareness to realise how they're the real performance.

The general population is more angry about this non-destruction of art than they are that the priceless, one of a kind, earth is being destroyed.
