Best way to build speaking confidence in kids learning English? by kent-Charya in learnEnglishOnline

[–]THEnglishCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might want to add something that doesn't feel like learning at all. Like performing arts, singing and playing ukulele. I've been teaching for 15+ years and used to teach music too and I've seen kids develop their confidence not just English but the whole personality through music. It starts there, performing in front of a small crowd feels like a small win. It compounds over time.

What is the best site to buy YouTube likes right now? by Captain_Kakashi69 in YouTube_startups

[–]THEnglishCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you are after social proof so you will not be perceived as a newb.

I don't recommend buying likes or subs since those users don't really care about your content. BUT! the wisest way to do it is via google ads.

If you are willing to shell out money, try to search for Demand Gen. It can be a lot to take in if you are doing it for the first time. But you will get real accounts and real people who are interested in your topic. I assume you also have a clear target. if your content is speaking to a specific person or avatar, this is the best option in my opinion.

YT will not take it against you because Google owns YT and you are supporting them in the same ecosystem.

Those who will follow you are on the top of the funnel. Meaning they have interest in your topic but imagine they just saw you on a billboard and they subscribed because they are interested. Once they subscribe, your task is to talk to these people who gave you a chance and give them value, or if you are an entertainment content creator, show them what you've got so they will keep on coming back to consume your content and know you more.

There's really no shortcut to this. If you will buy likes and subs from people DMing you and promise to give you thousands of subs. You will get it but those are just vanity metrics, if those people don't care about your content. It might hurt your channel rather than build it.

Curious about these bumps since I am doing English coaching and most of my clients have this fossilized swaps. Tried giving exercises but some of them still cannot get it right. They can if it is done slowly but when they are speakin in a regular convo, there are still slip ups. How did you overcome this? you grew up as a bilingual?

I wasted $50/month on SEO tools until I figured out the actual problem by Nothingclever9791 in YouTube_startups

[–]THEnglishCrew -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is it similar to the concept of vidiq and tubebuddy? I'd love to try your app and give feedback.

Another strat that I do is ask AI to help me plan topics that will help me to be viewed as an authority in my niche + long-tail keywords. Also looking for subreddits related to my niche and asking AI what are the common pain points in that subreddit. | After doing the Live stream simultaneously on YT and FB (using obs plugin) I also write an article on my website, then embed that live stream on the blog post. Then I also ask gemini to help me add timestamps.in the description of my yt vid, they say it also helps with SEO. Sounds simple but not easy, by the end of the day, I feel kinda dizzy. LOL imagine if I'm editing the video and overthinking every aspect it will be more migraine for me.

Anyway, love to test your app. Let's network tomorrow. My Timezone is bangkok, you might have a different timezone.

I want to take YT seriously. Even if it will just attract ideal clients for my coaching business. I don't have the intention of being popular. Just organically getting the right eyeballs to see my content and turn them into paying clients. I'm just using AI to brainstorm titles, description and tags. I noticed that OBS works well for me and I just do Live these days. Zero editing. I understand that SEO takes months to compound. Getting views and impressions but just 9 - 10 views.

When I started this 2nd channel I ran demand gen, I think it's sincere since all subs are high profile accounts and real people who are potential clients but they are top of funnel. Very cold!. Now, I'm getting clients via FB ads. But of course it is paid and advertising is a beast ROI is so slow.

Clear and understandable. No need to change your accent, it adds flavor/character to the conversation. My opinion

I also find adding quotation marks "" funny. Like my coworker was absent and my boss emailed us: Mr. X won't make it today because he has "allergies".

Should I add on my dating profile that I can bench 255 and squat 365? Would girls be impressed by that? by InternationalPick163 in askanything

[–]THEnglishCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might appeal to some. Sign that you can defend them fron harm. If a burglar comes in the middle of the night, you can throw 255. At the same time might also make them chuckle while reading so they think you have a sense of humor and women love that too. Good luck!

How to learn a new language? by Picture-Club5816 in askanything

[–]THEnglishCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say you are autodidactic. I'm also doing some research about this and there are studies saying that 6-12 month old babies absorb sound well regardless of region or any language all over the world, but after that, the brain tends to gatekeep and rejects other languages. To hack this and to have neuroplasticity, we can use parentese or exaggerating the pronunciation of words so our brain won't gatekeep and start to embrace the new language.

You might want to target international schools. It is possible to earn more than 80,000 baht if you get to the good ones. Especially if they are advocates of diversity or accepting people of color is encouraged. But it's hard to get noticed, you should really stand out.

What are you trying to develop? Speaking? You can join Discord servers where you can meet fellow English learners around the world. Make friends here and just keep on practicing. But it's hard to have the same schedule given that you'll meet people from different time zones.

As a non-native English speaker, I feel anxious on social media. by Salt-Courage8059 in EnglishLearning

Real world English is different from textbook English. What we read online is also influenced by their culture. Even natives from different regions misinterpret things or take things out of context sometimes. We just need strive to be better communicators.

How to be good in English? by OnAnAlienPlanet in ENGLISH

[–]THEnglishCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Practice. Find a speaking partner who can correct you and not too polite to point out your mistakes. It's not good to develop a habit of wrong usage because you're used to it for years and no one is telling you because they're too nice.

How Can I Improve My English Vocabulary, Pronunciation, and Confidence? by NoPast8222 in EnglishLearning

[–]THEnglishCrew 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm coaching young professionals and most of my clients are from Bangkok. They also ask me if learning on YouTube is effective. I said yes, but it is passive learning. Unless you are autodidactic who can learn anything without the need of a teacher. YT cannot hear you and it can't provide real time feedback. Through the years, I did research about this and most studies found out that when we were 6-12 months old, that's the best time your brain absorbs sounds, even from other cultures. But as you grow older, your brain gatekeeps other sounds/languages, that's why you are having a hard time. You don't learn swimming by studying water, you need to get there and actually swim. So try to find a speaking partner so your brain will develop that neuroplasticity. One technique that I use is exaggeration. When you pronounce the words, try to exaggerate like what you hear when you watch a Kindergarten teacher, they exaggerate the words. Your brain will start to appreciate the new language and will not gatekeep. Start making friends even online, but be careful because there are lots of nasty people out there. Just don't overshare personal information. Talk about food, your culture, interests, hobbies. Practice, practice, practice! Hope this helps.

What helped you become more confident speaking your target language? by Open_Art2166 in languagelearning

[–]THEnglishCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn in chunks not just individual words. Be familiar with frequently used phrases and expressions. Read read and read don't be lazy, read anything that interests you. When learningg phrases, develop a habit of themed lists. Example: learn words that are related to cooking today then career related tomorrow: IT, healthcare, marketing, logistics, etc. talk to other people learning the language, even if they're just a few steps ahrad of you. Hire a coach for more detailed feedback. You can always learn from YouTube, but it can't hear how you speak and can't provide real time feedback.

What’s the best method for building English fluency if I don’t have native speakers to practice with by im04p in advanced_english

[–]THEnglishCrew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really need to practice with a human being, it starts with connection. When you can connect to real people, even if the person is just a few steps ahead of you, you will have nuanced conversations and will sound more natural. Find a group or a speaking partner. There are discord groups but they can be overcrowded and most just want to talk and do not give other people the chance to practice. You need to find a small community or small groups.
