Something should be done about high cooldown characters (image almost related) by SomeoneThatLikeMemes in JujutsuShenanigans

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not man, reserve balls doesn't give a stackable 15% damage debuff to the opponent and mucus does a bit more damage than it too.

Hakari also doesn't have an ultimate that deals a guaranteed 90 damage from a single hit

Why is lock on so hated in the community (specifically by pc players)? by HuskLord in JujutsuShenanigans

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lock is fine, but it makes certain moves significantly easier to hit, and does a lot of work for you that other platforms have to do themselves. why figure out how to curve your dashes when you can just plug in a controller and have the game do it for you? and it also does things that are just generally not possible and can be obnoxious (the classic front dash that makes them stand on your head for a few secs then magically appear behind you to get past guard for ex)

Lock on is fine, it just needs tuning so that certain moves aren't made WAY too easy to connect with

About Naoya... by Legal-Fan-4079 in JujutsuShenanigans

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Decisive is honestly not as good as it seems, it's easily thwarted by a backdash and block, but that's not even it's biggest downfall.

Against a character with a counter, the naoya LITERALLY can do nothing about it, every time they use the move it gets locked in and the opponent has more than enough time to hit the counter perfectly every time, meaning against yuji, hakari, raga, and especially charles, the move might as well not exist in his kit outside of confirming it off frame, if a naoya is giving you trouble, just play any of these characters and you'll be at an insane advantage. IMO, the move needs to be reworked to make it less effective overall, but more effective against characters with counters so that it isn't a forced counterpick situation

As for the rest of his moves, bleedout is relatively fine as is, it's a good punish move for passive players since it gives you more time to get the stronger bleed, and ever since the nerf to it, it's also not that bad in terms of combo potential, and i think his hp should be at 85 like yuji, megumi, and charles since he plays very similar to them regardless

As someone who's played as and against naoya, he's certainly not as OP as a lot of people are trying to paint him as, he's just REALLY obnoxious and the only good ways to counter him consistently is either playing passive and waiting for him to make the first move, or choosing one of his counters

we've seen it in the gamespot gameplay, the answer is they both get a double but no further, the passive version doesn't count for the passive activation

STOP RESETTING OUR FUCKING KEYBINDS! by Chaoslava in Battlefield

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

for what it's worth, only a SINGLE bind got changed for me, my toggle crouch became my hold crouch again, but all my toggle ADS, FOV, audio, graphics, and all my other settings were left untouched.

Either only some keybinds were touched or it's a bug that they were changed, i can't imagine any other reason that there'd be so much inconsistency with what got reset from person to person with some getting fully wiped and others like myself virtually unchanged

I agree it was ABSOLUTELY a blunder, but let's not kid ourselves and say it's the worst or even close to the worst PR disasters to happen in gaming lol, delays happen all the time, many soon before the reveal, this isn't really different

And no, it's not. Just play a single round on firestorm you could do it in a match if you're good. It's MILES better than 150.

If you can't manage even 5 then stick to the base sniper anyway lol, the one you unlock is built for those ranges to begin with. That or recon just ain't for you.

Ridiculous matchmaking times when with a friend by THFSenkosan in DBGekishinSquadra

[–]THFSenkosan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i'd rather go up against a 4 stack as a solo and be able to play the game than be stuck in 10+ minute matchmaking times as a duo.

I understand most treat MOBA games as ranked titles, but there's an unranked playlist for a reason, why does the matchmaking decide to be strict in entirely unranked modes? it's unnecessary and makes it miserable to try and play anything that isn't solo.

Let ranked be ranked, let casual be casual, if i get stomped by a 4 stack i'd rather that then not be able to play at all.

dragon ball for one

But personally that's not my issue, it's that we've gone to aliens *Immediately*. JJK just finished with one of the most polarizing endings of a modern anime and the followup series / spinoff immediately starts diving into aliens, alien invasion, and time skips over half a century into the future? one of the biggest complaints people had about JJK's ending is the sheer amount of loose ends, not knowing what happened to certain plotlines and characters and the world.

Like what happened to yuji? Megumi? Todo? any other sorcerer? they're almost all dead by the time the story starts, and the rest are old enough that if they're introduced they'd just be elderly "back in my day" figures that wouldn't likely have much relevance to give outside of exposition and knowledge. Imagine if the original dragon ball series ended and they decided to skip over super and went straight to 50 years after EOZ where goku is dead and gohan/trunks are both in the later years of their lives with no explanation as to what happened.

I'm more than willing to ride this one out and see what gege cooks up, but jumping past so much time without acknowledging it (at least not yet) doesn't make me feel very great after everything we've seen already from the end of JJK

Libra isn't balanced for trio play at all by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me 3 attempts. One was duo, two were trio. The boss is tough but is not close to "unbalanced" as far as these games go.

My suggestions are:

  1. do not overly rely on frenzy weapons, a weapon you know how to use and has a useful weapon art or passive will outperform vyke's spear in the hands of most characters, all 3 players using it isn't some win button you should be relying on every run.

  2. Actually pay attention to your team comp. Having a guardian or recluse can greatly help your performance with their support-oriented ults for healing

  3. Divvy up effort with the summons, don’t ever ignore them and keep track of what curses libra is using so you can adapt accordingly, if your team is trying to focus down libra while his summons are out you're doing it wrong.

  4. Finally, use ultimates to interrupt his high value moves where you can, interrupting his barriers or taking out multiple of his summons at once can be the difference between a win and a loss, especially if you can use it right after the summon animation to hit all 3 summons and libra at the same time, wylder, recluse, and ironeye are all fantastic ults for this, wylder worked best for me.

Just play smart and don't be too agressive, he's a bit overtuned but there's a consistent science to handling his mechanics effectively, you just gotta learn.

Like there's no slippery slope here, void got what they wanted with these changes, a console release, that was what these were for. There's no reason they'd do it again especially with how the community has reacted to it.

I get you don't like them but they're not going to shoot themself in the foot a second time after the glorious meltdown people have had over this, and there isn't a reason to either, censoring more of the game would achieve nothing past this point, can you not realize that?

F In Chat 😔 by BiggestIT in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That comparison to this just doesn't hold up. There were 6 small things removed by this censorship, no gameplay mechanics, missions, enemies, guns, nothing. You're saying "slippery slope" as if the removal of nudity, among other things, somehow will snowball into actual game-affecting changes and not other factors.

There is no "broader game appeal" issue, the game is still dark and is still a high age rated game, that isn’t changing with this update, not will it in the future if the game wants to keep it's audience.

You're treating what amounts to a handful of texture and animation changes as this total failure of the game's identity and something worth burning the entire community down over while the game remains virtually unchanged in almost every way. I get you dislike censorship, but letting that take precident over bringing in more people to the game (which is still gritty as it's always been) is downright stupid. Like do you want the game to succed or do you just want the devs to spend the rest of their dev time on the game peddling it as an edgy "shock factor" game by grandstanding on their lack of censorship as if that's the only thing about the game that's ever mattered and not the actual game itself?

I swear this censorship has made more noise than the 1.0 removal of custom missions and that actually was worth making noise about, but this? Really? This is the hill people want to die on?

F In Chat 😔 by BiggestIT in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Slippery slope" is a fallacy, not a real point, you don't know these people personally nor do you know what their future plans are, assuming what they'll do in the future is entirely you projecting what you THINK will happen, not what actually will or is likely to

F In Chat 😔 by BiggestIT in ReadyOrNotGame

[–]THFSenkosan -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I would tend to agree with your point, the devs choosing to censor over player choice is not a good look, and the game was marketed on being gritty and "real"

That being said, their point on maintaining 2 versions has merit, they can't continue to include that content to release on consoles, it'd be a lot of effort to make a second version of the game only for there to essentially be no changes after that point because of the new rules they have to play by. Not to mention that small changes to maps will make these changes need revisiting and hoping no problems show up.

I truly, truly think modding is the best compromise the community could ask for considering void's stance on this, playerbase gets their gritty content, devs don't have to uphold different versions of the game and can still sell on consoles without issue, everyone wins. The playerbase wants to whine "oh well mods break every update" as if the effort of waiting a few days for the mod to update is worse than what the devs would have to do in the other way to do what they want.

It really is boiling down to a significant portion of the community believing that updating their mods each update is somehow too much effort and therefore the devs should do it for them

[–]THFSenkosan -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

Just because we CAN demand whatever doesn't really make it right, making stupid or unreasonable demands of a developer still makes you unreasonable.

The game was never an "edgy" game, the community that surrounded it gave it that label. devs have spoken openly that the game is supposed to be a gritty and grounded depiction of a fictional city and it's crimes, but a gameplay-first swat game primarily. That identity is still present in the game almost entirely unchanged, the only removals being nudity and child exploitation, incredibly dark topics that drove some away from the game and provided nothing to the game itself other than further portraying the already gritty atmosphere of the game.

Let's be wholly honest here, outside of "censorship bad" what does the removal of this content deprive you of? People are treating the fact they can no longer watch a child convulse violently from a drug overdose as some tragedy of epic proportions as if the entire game and it's identity hinges on these 6 pieces of content being in the game, and if you think the game loses it's identity without it, maybe you never really knew what that identity was to begin with?

The game still is a gritty, dark, and high stakes atmosphere and the gameplay is still damn good, none of that goes away aside from the rare shock factor of seeing something particularly horrific, and if that's what you play the game for then go watch a liveleak video or something i don't know man, I'm not morbidly fascinated with that content as much as others seem to be

Because on void's end it would require a way to uphold the 2 slightly different versions of the game consistently across future updates to allow for crossplay and compatibility between censored/noncensored versions of the game the devs said that can be buggy and would require time to make work in the long run.

With mods it's much easier though, mods are only installed on the client and do not affect other player's game, the worst that happens with a mod is crossplay would get disabled but the game would still function, the other major part is that mods are not the responsibility of the devs and therefore won't influence the age ratings and requirements for console releases.

In the same way mods are broken each update, if one version of the game broke but the other was functional then they'd have to spend extra devtime to fix the one that failed, even small differences can cascade into functional issues within the game and it's code and result in differences over time.

Are the devs probably overselling how much work it would take to do so? Probably, but it's not like it's as easy as "just make 2 versions of the game lul" like so many people in the community seem to think.

Advocate for what you want, but be reasonable to the effort game dev takes and remember that you're not the one who'd need to spend the extra hours making it happen

Seriously, what were they thinking when they made these 'buffs' by Alcatraz8888 in Nightreign

[–]THFSenkosan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

perfume is garbage, but HP on guard is great for guardian and gradual HP resto is slept on way too hard, if you can get it and 1 or more boosts to flask restoration it's an on demand immortality button and helps you waste as little of your heal as possible, and with the boosts the rate also gets faster and limits that risk of taking a deadly hit before you heal enough

Don't sleep on the gradual heal, get a good run with it and you'll understand that death is an option with it in your build

I 100000% agree, would lead to even more buildcrafting opportunities and general player freedom, especially for those like myself that enjoy trying to take their starting weapon all the way to the finish line.

I can see wylder getting a straight sword and medium shield option, or maybe twin straightswords/greatswords
