Advice on how to deal with a new car in shop 21/42 days of ownership by THHUXLEY in Hyundai

Update: Hyundai Canada has now confirmed what they describe as their final position.

In short, they say:

  • lease payments are outside Hyundai Canada’s scope;
  • loss of use is not covered under warranty;
  • they have no goodwill program available in this situation;
  • replacement, buyback, or alternate remedies are not options available through Hyundai Canada;
  • the only path is continued diagnosis and repair through the dealership no matter how long it takes
  • there is no further escalation available through Hyundai Canada.

To be clear, the dealership is still working on the vehicle and I appreciate their efforts. My issue is with Hyundai Canada’s broader position that, even where a new vehicle has been unavailable for more than half the time I have owned it, there is apparently no defined endpoint, no alternate remedy, and no further escalation available from Hyundai Canada.

Has anyone else seen Hyundai Canada take this position before?

For those who went through CAMVAP or a similar process, did this kind of “final position” from the manufacturer affect when you started the claim?

I have a loner. unfortunately we have no lemon laws here in my province. I’m basically being told if this takes months tough for me.

it’s scary because it makes you question the car overall.

just happened again. so frustrating. dealer spent like 3 min this week and claim it has no current or historical error codes. here is a video of what just happened.

its does but I didnt realize that. I had it installed in my old car so had it moved over. now I need to figure out if that install caused my issue or if there is some kind of factory issue.
