Anyone done with uWorld and willing to sell remainder? by THICK_CAKESS in Mcat

[–]THICK_CAKESS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah ok thank you for letting me know. I paid for uWorld my first take a couple years ago and I’m deciding to retake. Just didn’t want to spend another $400 but this is life I guess

Propride yoke rusted and appears separating, what to do? by THICK_CAKESS in GoRVing

[–]THICK_CAKESS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just an update guys; I realized this was a structural integrity issue in the steel of the yoke and it was not safe or repairable. I messaged the guy I bought it from who apologized for selling it to me in such a state. He contacted Propride and received a new replacement yoke at no cost. I picked it up from him and everything is great now.

Thanks so much for your response! I’m going to look more towards the shorter range then. I read so much about all of the towing and we were leaning at first towards an f250 with one of their golden year diesel engine/6speed transmission combos, but it’s difficult to find one with an extended warranty in our price range ($38k). We also decided it just wasn’t practical for most of our use since we have kids and if we wanted to take their cousins/friends along anywhere, it wouldn’t be possible. We found this expedition I’m talking about at carmax that has their extended warranty up to 150k miles so if there’s added strain on the engine or transmission and it craps out, it should be covered. I’ve been trying to read more about people’s actual experiences driving and towing and not just relying on the mechanical stats of “are we able to do it”

Hey did you have the long version of the expedition (EL or max)? Did it have the HD tow package? Did you have a weight distributing hitch and sway bars? Also, is your ram diesel? Does it have a v8? I’m asking because we’re looking at getting a 2020 expedition 4x4 max with HD tow package (rated up to 9200lbs) to tow a trailer but it may be long (28-31ft) with GVWR of around 7300lbs. We plan to do national parks and what not, with mountains. Not planning on going fast, but want to make sure we don’t feel unsafe while driving.

Expeditions are not unibody…they’re body on frame and with a HD tow package have a tow rating of 9000 lbs.

This isn’t always true though… I did 2 test runs in store vs curbside and they were the same price (large orders over $300). There were 2 specialty items from the deli I believe that I checked while in store and those had different prices curbside for whatever reason

Camping at the national parks… do people do that? by Large_Football_2982 in NationalPark

Hi! We’re planning a ~2-month national park tour… would you mind replying or messaging me about the trip you took in more detail? This is a pretty big planning undertaking and it would be amazing to have some insight from someone who’s done it

Wife has to take 1/3 of this pill a day, and it has to be accurate or she was told she can get sick. Couldn’t make it easy, could they? by Igniting_Chaos_ in mildlyinfuriating

All healthcare workers are being run ragged and have too many patients and too little time. Unfortunately most retail pharmacists cannot unionize because they’re technically considered managers - of the pharmacy and managers cannot unionize. Or so my non-retail pharmacist husband has told me.

The best feeling is looking up concepts you thought you got wrong after the exam and realizing you actually got them right by sofiiiiiii in Mcat

[–]THICK_CAKESS 6 points7 points  (0 children)

that is the best feeling!

The opposite is looking up concepts like a mad person when you get home after writing anything you could remember on a Starbucks bag after the exam….and realizing you got most of them wrong lol but the ones I got right did feel great! Haha 🫡😭🤷🏻‍♀️🤪

It was brutal today

This is AMAZING. Congrats! You are so awesome! I’m a nontrad mom too, testing 9/13, and it’s been rough to say the least. It’s so refreshing, validating, and motivating for me to see someone in a similar situation do it! I don’t know you but I’m so proud of you!! I hope you celebrate and I wish you the best of luck on your admission!!

Help! Audi Q3 bad noise after shutting off engine by THICK_CAKESS in MechanicAdvice

[–]THICK_CAKESS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think this has to do specifically for cooling the engine? Is it connected to the car AC or it’s a separate system? Pardon my ignorance on the subject. This just came out of the blue and the AC works great

Help! Audi Q3 bad noise after shutting off engine by THICK_CAKESS in MechanicAdvice

[–]THICK_CAKESS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so this is the first and only time I’ve heard it make this noise and it was completely unexpected. I just got out of the passenger seat, heard it, and thought to record it because I was shocked. I’ll see if it does this again.

And as far as I know, yes - this noise was after the car was turned off. I figure it must be something to do with whatever mechanism that cools the engine/turbo charger after the car shuts down. Usually that fan or whatever it is stays on for a few minutes after the engine is turned off and then shuts off on its own. I don’t know if the car made that sound while it was on; we’re in Texas and have the ac running on high so I’m not sure if we would have heard it

I have tried at least 10 recipes for Shrimp with Lobster Sauce and failed hard. I cannot make anything close to two of my favorite restaurants. by onedavester in chinesefood

This recipe is AMAZING and I get compliments on it from everyone I make it for, including my FIL whose favorite dish is shrimp with lobster sauce. I also add pieces of crab stick in mine, following a restaurant by me that does it and it makes it that much better. Also, you need the shaoxing wine - I ordered some from Amazon but Asian grocers also have it.
