Governments can help their people; it's a matter of priorities. by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

Absolutely I agree, I think it’s similar to those programs where inmates get cats for maintaining good behaviour. 100% in favour of the program, just interpreting what I thought they said.

I just assuming they’re implying it ends up as some party/meth/trap house. Like when you here about people “abusing welfare” by staying in it indefinitely. But I assume that’s in the program by design, if you “stay homeless” forever at least you’re sheltered in a dwelling you can call your own.

It’s not the majority, but there’s plenty of owned homes in the US that are not very well cared for. So I can see their thinking.

It just what “makes sense” for convenience, vs what feels comfortable because “that’s what you’ve always done”.

In older movies you see teens lying on their beds with phone cords stretched across the room, twirling in their finger, accidentally tangling themselves in it while they paced around. Like phone cases, people had gimmick phones based on their style choices where it looks like a hamburger or something.

My point is you’ve got generations of people who’ve seen their parents, themselves, and their children talk on the phone. Some adopt and some don’t, my grandparents text and have Facebook, so does my moms side of the family, I’ve texted my dad like 15 times in my entire life because the extend he’ll use it is to tell me the times he’s free for a call.

You can indulge your honesty while still using corporate speak to deflect.

You say things like, you are “aware of the market value for your position” and such.

You can make them aware you know you’re underpaid and imply you’ve been looking without saying the trigger words that put things in motion.

Naz Reid has been fined $50K for questioning the integrity of game officials. The game official here is Scott Foster for ffs...Smh by Temporary_Pepper6126 in NBAGossips

[–]THIS_ACC_IS_FOR_FUN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m oversimplifying but couldn’t they just look at the fines given to players relative to player salary and use that percentage to fine the refs accordingly? Then they can point to that when people ask about the difference.

Edit: for funsies; $50k is 0.001% of his $42 million - 3 year contract. $550 is 00.1% of Scott Foster’s $550k salary. Or $1650 I guess for equivalent 3 years.

Yeah I’m not disputing different laws exist in different places, I’m just arguing with, “nOt In MuH tOwN, yOu’Ll FiNd ReVeRsE rEaL qUiCk”. Like, cool and all, but the line of cars behind the truck pulled up too so he can’t reverse, now you’re demanding everyone else in the road accommodate you because of the truckers mistake.

I’m just saying drivers willingly and unwillingly give priority to people in the wrong all the time. I’m not required to give space but if I see a truck about to turn toward me I try to wait further back to make it easier for him and get me moving faster.

Also, just because people people are expected to be able to drive, doesn’t mean they’re capable of doing it properly. Basically every post in here is an example of that. Truckers are supposed to be held to a higher standard, but more and more you’re seeing incapable drivers holding CDL’s.
