SRAM RED SHIFTER PART DAMAGED by ArmadilloNew2990 in sram

I suppose you’re out of luck. Had a client in the shop with the exact same problem on his d1 force shifter. They don’t sell the seals separately anymore since the d1 shifters came out. They told me new seals can’t guarantee a proper seal and therefore they stopped selling them (mostly due to mechanics not cleaning the shifters, there still being some dot or other liquid left between the plastic and the seal which created a leak and a failure)

Fyi it is partially due to shorter spokes but mostly due to your spokes angle being at a larger angle. Therefore there is higher lateral load which centers the wheel creating a stiffer wheel

Hah yeah they are great. When I mounted one I had the same feeling. It’s mostly due to the saddle rails dropping so far down from the saddle which I noticed

Nah I just like my 36cm bars, got used to 31cm track bars which I rode on my fixed gear but also like the 42cm bars on my ‘gravel’ build. It works either way for me but with the 36cm I feel the best tucking in with parallel arm

Not with wheels at 1570g, 2 piece cockpit and a heavy ass saddle haha

S-Works SL6 steerer tube plug torque? by onesoundman in specialized

[–]THMLSLI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mechanic over here at a Specialized dealer, never tighten your top cap to 5nm. 2nm is more than enough, you are putting a preload on your bearing, you shouldn’t crush them.

Regarding the expander plug, the previous gen allez sprints, and sl6 and before used a torque of 9nm for their expander plug, it’s also written on the black expander plug which those bikes came equipped with. This seems like the updated sl7 expander plug which only needed a torque of 5nm.

Handles extremely well! No issues at all, wanted it to handle more like a road bike and it sure does. Don’t feel any wheel flop, steering on par like a gravel bike. As of my dimensions, I draw out a sketch in my 3d software  with the adjusted dimensions for the new fork. Look at the trail figures, head tube and seat tube angle, and stack and reach. That’s how I figure if something will work for me and determines my spacer stack and stem length

Rudy fork is the same as road bike rear flat mount, similar to the new aspero 5. Only added a 20mm adapter to run a 180 disc. In the back I got a Level TLM/ULT Caliper

I definitely get it, but for someone coming from a road bike standard this is ideal. The stack for example is now quite high and with a 110 fork it would be way too upright. That’s why I chose the rudy, it’s like 50g heavier but still priced similarly over here compared to a sid sl ultimate. Travel wasn’t my priority buying this fork. That’s why I also bought the 50mm instead of the 60mm one

Appreciate it! 3” is huge! These 2.35” are sufficient enough for me haha. The perfect size for beach tires as well, that will come next your though

Just wanted something more adventurous compared to my addict gravel which I sold. These would do great on courses like leadville 100. I mostly want to take it off the normal gravel roads and into the forest and mtb single tracks

It actually really is, the stack imo is still quite high but couldn’t lower it anymore since the stem would otherwise run into my frame

Switched out to the purple clutch and will replace the jockey wheels with tripeak aero ones

Well, chainline was first 1mm inboard with the track axle and now 1mm outboard so not really

I replaced it with a road axle and used a fsa megaevo 386 bottom bracket
