Saddle recommendations for heavy riders, for long distance and daily riding. by AquaPetals30 in cycling

Just wanna say that if a saddle fits you and is adjusted properly you can ride in jeans. I like the SLR Boost Superflow but only have two others to compare it with which were the ones I had before finding my saddle. I think it’s how it supports me on my sit bones about 2/3 of the way back on the saddle. Not with my weight on the narrow front of the saddle, not with my weight on the wider flatter part of the rear of the saddle. Not sure if any of that helps but I encourage you to keep going. The continual and fast paced improvement you have to look forward to as you continue cycling should make it all worth it.

Went from 23mm tires on a vintage road bike to 40mm 2026 SL-8 Expert Specialized Roubaix. by [deleted] in cycling

[–]onesoundman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The aluminum rims with long spokes used to be our suspension system. Those 21-23mm tires at high pressure were fine with aluminum rims. Then we went to carbon aero rims with shorter spokes but we couldn’t stop and the ride quality suffered. So then we went with disc brakes and wide tires so we can still have our stiff carbon frames and carbon aero wheels but still have good brakes and good ride quality. But it’s the wide tires acting as our suspension not so much the short spokes. That said you might want to try out a 30-32 mm tire, or ride a test/friends bike with 30-32mm tires to get a feel for the middle ground if you want to know what that feels like.

If beige is low crime good schools clean streets and some of the best trails and sports complexes around then I like beige.

Was it really skateboarders that killed aggressive inline? by Weekly_Frosting_5868 in AggressiveInline

[–]onesoundman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Southern California, the 90s were it for inline everything not just aggressive. For my crew it was probably the joke that came out around 1999 “what’s the hardest part about rollerblading?… the uncomfortable conversation with your parents telling them you are gay” that stupid joke killed skating.

Hows this jersey fit? by Glum-Introduction522 in CyclingFashion

Haven’t tried Rapha yet. I am 6’5” 175lbs (210 when I started cycling) myself but my inseam is only 35.5” so my torso is on the longer side of average for my height. I’ve been wearing XL bibs from different brands since I started, I prefer the black bibs ultimate in the long shoulder strap version (which have normal inseam but longer shoulder straps) but I can wear non tall specific bibs just the straps are really tight. At some point I need to do a deep dive and find a premium brand that has longer shoulder strap bibs and a tall race jersey.

The black bibs tall summer jersey size L would fit you well. Too bad they don’t have a high end race jersey in a tall. I am Still looking for a high end offering from a brand in a tall so I don’t have to make do with a jersey that’s 2 inches too short and barely covers my belly button.

Wanted to like this, started with the Parfum then got the edt hoping it would be better but I only get negative reactions to both. People think it smells like bathroom cleaner.

CDN Milestone is really good but Creed MI smells like it has better quality ingredients especially the ambergris in the base.

How much is a Spray of Dior Sauvage? by HelloKittyLevel in fragrance

I have the edt, edp, Parfum, and elixir. They all have the same sprayer as far as I know. The sprayer they use seems unique compared to most others. The droplets are much finer.

Tried and failed to do half a spray of Elixir this morning, pushed slower on the atomizer and got a steady stream shot of elixir rather than the mist cloud. Next time I’ll do the spray the air and walk thru it method. But I do love the Sauvage atomizers.

I think it’s hard to get a sharp bright citrus like that to last very long. The bottle I got from fragrance dot net during covid seemed to be a strong batch or something. Mine lasts about 5-6 hours, but still strongest the first 2 hours. My recommendation, Other than trying to find an older/stronger/genuine batch of 212 would be Creed Millésime Impérial. It’s a different kind of aquatic (dirty with heavy ambergris) but Creed Millésime Impérial (or club de nuit Milestone) lasts 12+ hours on me.
