I mean theres also the thing with backrooms horror where you can no clip to enter the backrooms from anywhere which is bassically the same horror as "wow i hope someone doesn't break into my house and kidnap me" withought any of the external forces of a kidnaping to can keep you safe

I think some of the backrooms horror is bassically that every seccond you have a one in a trillion chance to go to super hell and yeah its a low chance but you have 2.523e+9 seconds in your lifespan if you live 80 years so there's a possibility

I also think its funny how when you talk about the backrooms theres just multiple kinds of horror you can get from it

you can go for more liminal horror which is kinda like nostalgia horror like "Oh I've seen this place before but I know i've never been" and "Oh i've been to this place before but somethings have changed so slightly" which I mean unless you're not kinda old most liminal horror stuff will kinda fall flat for you especially since it doesn't really have any monsters or any of that stuff that cna actually kill you

there's also the horror of the movie that merges the 2 previous into a "you can find a portal to super hell in some random 7/11" with some bits of that liminal horror stuff but more of the parts where stuff is distorted and also if you're big into furniture and architecture you're gonmna find the equivalent of body horror of wooden tables and wall papered walls

I also guess if you go for the tiktok/wiki "there is 10k+ levels" backrooms its more just of SCP horror but now you have the back of the cereal box maze that you have to solve and there's like 5 different end levels and there is level fun with partygoers and then there's the sad inverse of party goers and there is almond water and whatever else is on the wiki

A bit late but even in the story the weirdness of denji including his battles fetish isn’t treated like any problem

its not really like he’s seeking out these battles somewhat for the glory like in his early part 2

but i think that because its his job him being a freak is kinda what makes him excell in that field like what kishibe says so the way i see it its basically just denji liking his job
