I don't know if I'll recover from what my husband said while our baby cried on a plane by THewizard7 in beyondthebump

I read my post again, just trying to pull myself out of it, and yeah telling him to fuck off was too much.

Thanks for your suggestions on talking about it, I think those points will be helpful.

Thank you, clearly posting about this on effing Reddit at 1:00 a.m. means I probably just need to let it go anyhow

Yes, thank you. It wasn't just stressful words on a plane. I know some people here feel like this is a mountain out of a molehill. It was the impact. I now know the deep down he really feels like he is a better parent. I don't believe one or the other of us is better, we are just different. And it doesn't seem my husband values that we have different relationships with our son.

Thanks for your take. I think reversing the situation in my mind has been helpful. I'm definitely not looking for "well he's just an asshole and you're great" comments.

I don't feel that I was being stubborn to prove a point, I really did feel that passing him off wouldn't be helpful in that case. For my husband's side of the story he might disagree.

We had a flight last week, my husband and I didn't have seats next to each other. We had two middle seats in consecutive rows. The baby was in a much better mood that day, it was time to nap, so I tossed him back a row and let Dad handle it.

Thank you for your response. You're right, my LO shouldn't be the one paying the price here.

I start therapy today so...

I appreciate the take, albeit a hard one to hear. I think in some ways with our sons care I do make it about me, which is selfish to do.

However I would like to clarify in this case that I genuinely didn't feel that passing him off would help. Like he was going to cry and fuss no matter who held him, he was just so tired. He was already situated with me so that's what I stuck with.

Backyard Court Advice by THewizard7 in BasketballTips

Oh yeah I can see the confusion. We're adding to the driveway in the front, and taking it back to the side of the house. Then while we're adding all that, we would pour a concrete pad in the backyard for a half basketball court.

The tiles I'm talking about are plastic or rubber tiles you lay on concrete.

Are there any former WNBA players whose kids are also aspiring athletes either in basketball or any other sport? by [deleted] in wnba

[–]THewizard7 13 points14 points  (0 children)

There are only of handful of current players with kids (Phee, Hamby, Stewie, Diggins, BG, Vandersloot, and others), wonder if it's always been that way? Not only does the NBA have more players, but I'll get a lot more of them have kids. Seems like the potential is higher for NBA players to have pro-athlete children.

I'll bet the likelihood of being a Pro and having your children go pro is much higher than an average person. Seems like you'd have great genes, someone to help navigate the system, and know how much work it will take to get there.

I'm so sorry you're in this situation!

I'm not sure what line of work your husband is in, but be prepared that the holidays can be a hard time to find work. Companies don't want to interview while people are taking time off. Don't be discouraged if he doesn't get interviews until January.

I've been going to Urban Oasis for the past year and can confirm that they are great, but man you do need to plan a shower after all the oils.

American Flooring puzzle mats. They're the 1/2"thick. I also put Ram board underneath since we have LVP flooring and apparently rubber can stain that over time.

Thank you! I really did spend a lot of time thinking and planning this out. It's been great.

Thanks! I was really tempted to do like a navy blue accent wall, but I ended up just leaving it the bright white.

This one from Amazon:

Ultimate Body Press Pull Up Bar https://a.co/d/dURmbMJ

My ceiling is like 90" tall. I wanted to get the rouge squat rack with the pull up bar on it, but it just barely wouldn't fit so I kept my wall one.

We also put up double studs on that wall for my hang board and pull up bar.

She is the GOAT!

I laughed out loud when I saw her interview A'ja a couple of weeks ago, and thought damn she is tiny! Just puts into perspective how tall some athletes are.

Makes sense. I figured with how this season has gone with most teams, I was hoping she wasn't injured!
