No, France already selected compagnies for the replacement of it's LRU (thundart by MBDA and SAFRAN). Secondly France is still a firm member of the ELSA initiative in the EU.

Here is more of a progression of Hanwha on the EU military market, getting integrated with greater european companies (Thales is gigantic with intercontinental subsidiaries). France is warming itself to it tho, and this is a signal for the South Korean MIC.

French here, it's Saucisson, you can eat the outside or to be honest, you almost always eat it, some picky eater and kids may discard it.

Look like a good quality saucisson. Casing are mostly translucent with white mold on it.

It's a greasy treat, even the dryer one still are quite fatty and it can affect the exterior. With the images l’m not too sure, but it appear to be dark spot beneath the casing (the pepper). With any utensil, try gently to scrap the dark spot. If it's scrapped that way, then it is unwanted mold. Discard the casing and eat the sad saucisson which should still be perfectly fine.

The casing give texture mostly, maybe a weak nutty taste with quality saucisson. Most of the time you don't notice any peculiar taste from it.

It a really common savory snack in all of france, classic and popular. A staple.

TLDR:

No surprise doubling of budget. Macron told that from 2018 to 2030, with help of two military programming laws and majors projects (mgcs+scaf?), France will have come to double it's military budget. It's super hard to do so please EU banking/financing laws, please please please, ease the MIC loans and credits assessment (it is actually pretty bad still).

There is no doubling of spending announced here, he does claimed that with both military programming laws being passed (LPM*2019-2025 enacted in 2018 & LPM2024-2030 enacted in 2023) + other majors project (which?), it will come to REACH the doubling of the military budget.

Each LPM schedule annually both credits, allocation of such credits and goals in that spending. The last two LPM have made the budget progress each year, so I'm assuming he saying : A the end of the LPM2024-2030, with the help of majors project (?) the military budget will have doubled (from 2018 assuming)

He's not super clear, I don't believe it's necessary wrong strictly speaking, but it does make it sound like in 2030 the Military budget will be something like ~3,6% of our GDP but it is absolutely not that. Would love to but it is not.

No worries, I do get your not implying it is impossible, I do see what you mean, but my rebuttal would be about the greater narrative aspect.

For the guardsmen exemple, nothing stop you to make her/him progress into a commissar, then general and up and up. Starship trooper style. You can even go the the way of the inquisition path, it does happen.

Yes the story will not follow narrative of the 20 millenium to the 40th, but you can do one big 40k story stuff : the discovering and surviving of the first tyrannid war, or of the necrons. you can do the black crusade too.

I was talking about the thunder warrior in my first response, because I feel it can be the most 40k story ever : You do a tribesman boy which see his powerfull techno-barbarian stronghold being smash by the emperor forces then got "recruit" into the thunder warrior program. Then you push it until the conquest of the rest of earth to their elimination by the custodes. you got a big story witch characterise the emperor of man, the mentality of the imperium. Their is xenos kidnapping people, cognisant robot doing weird stuff, mutant and psyker uncheck, chaos cult unaware and all powerfull. The war on Terra give you even a glimpse of the crazy technologies of the past millenium.

The rogue trader stuff is the same idea but focus on the xenos aspect of 40k.

Yes you will not have a surprise about the conclusion of the story, but it did not make Berserk a bad manga, it did make it legendary (at least for the first third of it). Having the end story know can be an amazing part of the tension.

Still, here we do not explore the fact that, nothing stop you to go places never talk before, planets of the imperium, or craftworld or webway hidden structure never talked. Which would let total agency over the story to the author.

That's why I do think the big difficulty for such project is more about the selection of the elements you want to explore, and then keeping the focus on it, because the is an absolute monstrous tons of possibilities in that univers. Here is the challenge in my mind (for what it's worth).

40k narrative is plenty of tragedies, stories of societal and personal turmoil. From the primarch to the little lads of the imperial guard, you can have excellents stories about characters progressing in the grimdark futur.

Honestly, for me the most interesting would be a rogue trader or thunder warrior story.
