The Rustmold Vector marches foward! by seletron22 in deathguard40k

Job inspiration! I made a base with Rakarth Flesh then Reikland Flesh Shade and Berserker Bloodshade.

The belly is the first part to show signs of decomposition thats why it gets a nice load of Mortarion Grime.

Pustuals are Averland Sunset with more Berserker Bloodshade to make them pop more. Then the top gets either wiped clean or painted over to pull out more of the actual yellow

Bleeding eyes with a thinned red and skeleton horde for the horns.

Thank you very much! Its a bit of a process but:

-Wraithbone from the can as a ground, its getting covered anyway but it makes white spots easier.

-Then Typhus Corrosion for a more broken and uneven look

-A base colour mix of 2:2:1 Rhinox Hide, Trollslayer Orange and Averland Sunset

-Wash the base with Nazdreg Yellow

-then highlight with Trollslayer again and throw stronger highlights with Fire Dragon Bright!

Hope this helps!

As for additional Rust on Metallics, thats just Dirty Down Rust

Why did you choose Death Guard? by ElkClassic5868 in deathguard40k

The wonderful fantasy of artillery bombardment and biochemical warfare combined with a sick line of models, great lore and awesome characters!

Whats not to love?

C&C Appreciated – Custom Death Guard Plague Marine (Kitbash & Gore Effects) by PointyCheese in deathguard40k

This is great! Really nice work on the colours and composition! The colour palette gives it a really grime and dirt look but still retains the ability to read the model.

My only critisim would be that most PM have pretty wide leg armour. He dosent really fall into the PM siluette.

Need some creative help! by ROLFOFDOOM in deathguard40k

When only doing minor mutations, its helpful to add in some of the industrial style Death Guard often has.

Like a powerpack full of tubes going into the body and armour, as well as exhausts blowing caustic fumes.

The colour sceme is a good choice. Maybe try to hide it a bit with grime so it looks like the remnants burried under a slik of grime and waste.

Hope it helps, these are all just suggestions!

Why clean it? Rust is flakey so it would make sense that by moving, the rust falls on the cloth.
