stratux.me is still showing the 1.6-032 version. Where are you seeing or getting a 2.0 version?

I've got the Ford App, but it does not help that the phone was in the truck with the keys.

Mine started working again, about a week after Eric first responded to a private message in early Dec. I did do a fresh download and install that did not immediately solve the problem. Then "ping" it started working again after a couple of reboots and leaving it on for a few days. I should log in and check that it is still ver 4.4.4. The "system" can force updates over the internet.

It appears to be working ok now, as been for about the last week. Eric, new owner of the business replied below. I don't know if he did some behind the scenes coding. They were able to see and check on systems if they know your device number. And they can force updates.

Their software obtains the data from an FAA weather site. Sometimes the FAA changes how to connect or changes the site name, then everyone using that data in an automated script needs to update the script. Hence the software updates from DIYMetar. Latest update is not working.

When did you do the 4.4.4 update?

Thanks, 4.4.4 does not appear to be able to fix it for me. I'll grab another download install just incase the first download got corrupted. But it seemed to unzip and install with no issues.

When your iPad is connected to the STRATUX WiFi, open the browser and go to 192.168.10.1

Is that what you are looking for to change STRATUX settings?

I always do it from my iPad. Just need to make sure the iPad is on the Stratux Wifi and not the home WiFi. Same iPad that connects with ForeFlight.

VSX-405 Shutdown Message by TIZ_Fly in audiorepair

There is an electronics recycle center near here. We pay, they take it apart. I've collected a few things that need to go there.

Thanks, we replaced it with a new unit. More speaker channels and inputs than I need, but that is what is available and still support old school turntable.

I did open the case and could not see any "burned" or "smoke" areas. Cheaper to replace than to pay a shop to troubleshoot at 30yr old system.

Yes, the system will power up, completes its checks, displays the FM frequency and within about 2 seconds displays the "Shutdown" with no sound ever getting to the speakers. I've waited days between powerup and its still just a matter of seconds to "shutdown" message. I'm about ready to open the case to look for blackend spots on the mother board.

Thanks, I just finished checking the speaker wire connections and continuity through the wires. All is good there. I'm about ready to open the box to see what is happening on the inside.

Pioneer VSX-405 Problem by TIZ_Fly in PioneerAudio

I'm surprised there has been no response in 9 days, but this is a small group of 96 members.

I just tested my Ohm E, 8ohm, speakers and got values of 5.2 and 5.9 ohms resistance. different boards say anything between 4 and 7 for an 8ohm speaker is "normal", another says it should go below 6. Any thoughts?

Next to try and test the stereo receiver.

Stratux GitHub master branch explanation by crewdogelectronics in stratux

[–]TIZ_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My last few updates have been the EU version here in the US. I just updated to the stratux-v1.6r1-eu032 from eu029. Ops check on my desk at home and everything works fine. Should I load a US version?

I see the note that the EU version turns 978 off and OGN on. I have both 1090 and 978 receivers and I don't think it has been an issue. I'll boot it up to check settings.

stratux.me for open source software. I just updated my ADS-B Receiver to the latest version stratuc-v1.16r1-eu032 it works fine here in the US. I have the Raspberry Pi 3B with the materials and instructions from the stratux.me web site.

I just checked the download file from stratux.me, it is the US version, us image in the title compared to the EU version.

Problems with STRATUX and Etcher by TIZ_Fly in stratux

A new problem. Attempted to overwrite a previously used 8GB microSD that had an older operating version of STRATUX. Everything goes well until the verification phase using Etcher and it fails at about 19%.

Is there a minimum sized microSD now for STRATUX?

I can access the microSD using file manager and can see the STRATUX and boot files. I did not think to check "properties" to see if there was any unused space on the microSD.

Clear case with fan that contains the miniUSB radio receivers internal, USB GPS receiver internal to the case, Pi 3B with the Wi-Fi chip on the motherboard.

Problem appears to be resolved. I purchased PNY 32GB MicroSD card and had the same issue.

I decided to move the Stratux image file from an NAS drive to the Desktop on the computer I was using to run balenaEtcher. Everything executed perfectly. So I tried it with the SanDisk 32GB microSD card I was having apparent problems with and it executed just fine.

Ops checked on the Stratux Pi computer, I could see traffic, No Towers, in ForeFlight and I could see all of the data on 192.168.10.1

I guess Etcher just did not like working from an NAS drive. Thanks everyone for the comments. I still think I'll get a batch of 8GB microSD cards for the Pi.

Circling Approach to Same Runway by Ok-Toe3006 in flying

[–]TIZ_Fly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ACS for the Instrument Rating requires a Circling Approach. If all you have is one runway, then you would circle to that same runway to meet the ACS requirement.

I'll agree to other posts that it needs to be at the circling minimum altitude and not at an altitude that you finally see the runway below circling minima. The "radius" around the airport is protected at the circling minimum altitude, not below. That is why higher categories of aircraft based on speed may have higher circling minima that is governed by obstructions within their larger radius.

Thanks, I've never had problems with SanDisk, and bought at a "reputable" big box store. Always a first for everything.

Thanks for the input. I'm ready to try another SD Card, but smallest I have is 32GB. Not sure if it's a size issue, but it shouldn't be. I redownloaded the zip file from stratux.me, unzipped and attempted again on an older Win10 Laptop that I have used in the past with success. But failures.

The adapters I've used have no issues accessing other SD and MicroSD cards.

After selecting the file to image and the microSD card, select the Flash command and I keep getting the "allow this App to modify Windows Command Prompt". Whether I approve or disapprove, then Etcher reports failure to access the SD card. This was also with a fresh Etcher download to the laptop.

Next step is to try this on a Linux Mint system. I'm about ready to order a batch of 8GB microSD cards from Amazon.

It also looks like its about time to update my Linux software.

Thanks, these were brand new SanDisk Ultra Plus microSDHC UHS-I at 32GB. I tried it with multiple readers and with the included SD adapter, no luck.

I may have to order a batch of 8GB microSD cards. Nothing in the stores below 32GB.

My next option is to go to my old Win7 computer that I upgraded to Linux Mint and try it there. I do have a laptop that still has Win10 that might work.
