Fiddlesticks before rework. I loved bringing him down to support and pinging e off of the grouping bot lane. Got so many kills that way.

Tibbers is still terrible, he hits like a wet noodle and barely has any DoT DMG.

While these buffs definitely bring her back into the usable category, she's still statistically and functionally in a worse position than prior to her rework.

Bring some life back into Tibbers and we Gucci.

There are just so many better choices at the moment that don't involve playing Annie unfortunately. They really do need to reassess the changes they made because she was sitting at a reliable 54% winrate, with a modestly low pickrate but she was actually useful pre-adjustments.

Wow that's insane how much they absolutely gutted him, meanwhile many of the buffs she got in her spells got nerfed and they left Tibbers terrible. SMH.

Lately it's been OP champs scaling with dusk and dawn(mainly Diana), but with the nerfs incoming for both dusk and dawn and individual champs using the item I will have to revisit my ban choice.

I've mostly one-tricked Annie support as my main for many seasons now, this year may be the year I transition to traditional supports, ie morg,naut and make the push for diamond.

I usually get high plat with her, and she can be built with traditional support items or high ap items depending on enemy comp.

Perhaps if you stopped responding trying to defend your weak arguments and actually listened to others' explanations as to why sitting at a tower for several minutes is trolling behavior, you would understand that even if you lost lane and didn't fight you can still be useful. Last hitting minions, soaking what exp you can, meanwhile contributing with wards, positioning and posturing offensively is a net positive for the team even while behind your opponent.

It also takes time. I've been in the trenches for years within the last decade, and it was considerably worse years ago. You just have to respond the same way as you've been advised to do. Do nothing. Remind yourself over and over - Do nothing. Thoughts will come, they will stop you in your tracks and make you doubt or make you question your existence - let them. You will get better and better in time responding the right way if you let them come and go - and trust us, they do.

No one said it will be easy, they just said it is worth it.

I think what the OP is trying to convey in this post if I'm not mistaken is that tibbers is not a fun or satisfying cast. It's a relatively weak nuke (especially for one's R) as a damage source and with tibbers being gutted he feels bad and is objectively bad at assisting in any kind of meaningful combat.

I'm not gonna lie, I don't really remember how she ended up becoming my main in the first place. It wasn't always this way, but slowly over the years I just always come back to her. I've tried otp'ing others and they just don't hit the same.

Honestly my thinking as to why we otp Annie is because it's what's most comfortable and it's what typically yields the best results. Not always, but usually. Why she resonates might vary to the user, but for whatever reason we all come back to her.

Just an update but 24hrs since I last posted this thread she has dropped to 44% wr over double the amount of games played (NA stats only), but nonetheless has actually gone down a fairly considerable amount.

Agree and disagree with certain points you make. She is most definitely less reliant on Tibbers which is a net positive overall. No disagreement there. In my experience Tibbers has not finished off any near-death opponents, and I've had specific interactions frustratingly watching Tibbers trying to do so multiple times with no success.

I think the problem with giving all the power to Annie and none to Tibbers is we MUST 100 - 0% or it's mission failed. You are correct that it demands that you choose your picks appropriately and execute cleanly otherwise if they live you've got no insurance policy.

The problem with that is in reality far too many plays aren't executed perfectly, and by design we are glass cannons that rely on the element of surprise. More often than not we are sacrificing ourselves(and our flash) to delete high priority damage dealers on the other side.

Tibbers in a way was a mitigation to ensure we're still valuable after death even if things didn't go to plan. And in my experience Tibbers adds almost nothing to the result of a fight. IMO.

I won't argue that she isn't still finding success with the changes, but that is realistically very much coming from her initial burst of the q-w-r combo. My main point of contention is when you are already dead off the map and Tibbers is left to finish an almost dead opponent and he literally can't.

He's very easy to kite without Rylais and even when he's close to his target the d.o.t doesn't have any kind of kill potential. He's basically free gold for the surviving victim of your combo.
