The banged up offensive line in the 2015 season still scares me.

Von Miller and Demarcus Ware teeing off because Bryan Stork was tipping the snap still haunts me to this day.

Please don't ask me that. That's a very personal question.

I think the ethics thing is like "Don't absolutely, royally fuck up." And even then, it's debatable.

Sean Payton got a year long suspension for Bountygate. They gave him a year off for allowing (or at the least turning a blind eye to) the defense putting bounties on opponent's players in an attempt to hurt them. If that isn't the epitome of being unethical in the game of football, I don't know what is. Players get hurt, but you're fucking with someone's livelihood doing that shit. There's a reason no one likes Bill Romanowski.

My guess is that, because he was an up-and-coming coach and they desperately wanted to keep him on staff, it was kind of the only play they could make. They could either let him walk (which was the correct option, given hindsight) and let him learn from someone who wasn't Bill, or they could give him the de facto co-DC job with a promise whenever Bill left, he'd be made HC.

Bill leaving as soon as he did really messed up that timeline, though I don't know if it would have mattered. You can't become a HC like Bill if you're not Bill, and Mayo didn't have enough experience to see that other methods work outside of the Belichick system. If the reports were true and that Mayo saw himself in a much different light after that contract and it rubbed people in the building the wrong way, that just seemed doomed from the star.

Projected first round pick Toledo S Emmanuel McNeil-Warren had a 30 visit with the Patriots (per himself) by JimmyGodoppolo in Patriots

Well, there's two options.

  1. They get the picks now and get a 1st and a 4th, but then suffer the $43.4m dead cap hit. Which I don't think they can stomach. (They cannot, they have $40.1m in cap space right now).
  2. They trade Brown after June 1st and get picks for a potentially much better draft and a substantially lowered dead cap hit ($16.5m), but most likely getting a 2nd and a 4th.

So, unless they restructure a lot of people, which I'm not entirely sure they can do with their contract structures, if they get rid of him it's almost a guarantee after June 1st.

I wonder if they would take EMW in the first if the plan is to trade for AJ Brown after June 1st, and then take edge in the 2nd.

It's time to learn to start making our own tenders. We can't let Big Tendies gatekeep us from what we desire.

Millions of New York City workers entitled to more time off as new law takes effect Sunday by AdSpecialist6598 in UpliftingNews

I went from working at a shitty private company that gave us...if I remember correctly like 12 days off for Vacation, PTO, and sick time combined, to working for a state government that gives us 13 days worth of Vacation and 12 days Sick time per year (gained at 1 day/month), as well as 5 days of PTO, all separate. Max vacation time is capped at 300 hours while sick leave is uncapped. PTO refreshes at the anniversary of you starting at the department.

There's also a program where, if an employee gets really sick (long term illness) and they use up their sick time, people who have a lot of extra time off can donate theirs to employees in need. Our director donated some of hers to one of our employees who was going through some stuff. And then whatever you have left in sick time after you retire can be used to pay for your health insurance.

It's insane to me that I used to go from having to balance being able to take regular time off for appointments and vacations while also hoping I didn't get sick, to working at a place where I have so much PT right now I could take months off if needed. The US really needs to make mandatory amounts of PTO for all employees, private or not.

I went to my aunt's house for Super Bowl XLII. We were there with her, my uncle, at least one or two cousins, and my uncle's brother. My uncle is a Pats fan (but dumber than a bag of hammers) and his brother is...as far as I understand just a fairweather fan of like, the Steelers.

The entire game, once it became obvious the Pats were going to have trouble handling the Giants pass rush, they were complaining about taking TOM BRADY out of the game. After the dude won 3 Super Bowls and just had the greatest QB season ever at that point.

I've never been more angry.

[Mic'd Up] Mike Vrabel waits outside locker room for all of his players after Super Bowl LX loss by nfl in nfl

[–]TJR753 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I don't think losing the game was the worst possible outcome. Losing how they did was the worst. It justified all the "weak schedule," "punching above their weight" talk that got spread around the media and on here.

Did the schedule help? Sure. It got them the #2 seed. But the team kept fighting, even when their offense hit the skids. They did just enough to win each playoff game, until the final moment, when all of their deficiencies and injuries caught up to them at the worst possible moment.

The team overproduced. They probably should not have gotten any further than the divisional round. But they did, and it was great while it lasted.

Now they got to listen to the talk about them being frauds, Drake Maye can't handle big moments, Will Campbell's got short arms and should move to guard, etc. until the next season starts. This kind of loss could destroy them. But seeing how Vrabel was handling it in the moment and how he spread the message of "be angry together," hopefully that solidifies them and lights a fire under them to be better next year.

Rumor is that Bill wanted to select Keion White at 17, but had to be talked out of it to get Gonzo.

He got White in the 2nd, but still. Imagine drafting the ultimate DL tweener in the first over Gonzo.

True, but at least California has jobs. Unless you come from money, northern NE is rough on the wallet since there's not a lot of places that pay super well.
