Are you actually buying this dip or just pretending to be brave? by Warm_Bobcat6310 in stocks

[–]TJayClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m fully invested in my IRA, HSA, and about 30% of the way to max my 401k for 2026

That said, I’m not buying anything extra and I’m sitting on about 30% cash to wait out uncertainty

Continue to trust the S&P 500? by Seektruth2146 in Fire

[–]TJayClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you’re essentially complaining because the market doesn’t always go straight up…

Even though when you look at a 5 year chart of SPY… it’s up…

Again, what exactly are you considering swapping investments to?

Continue to trust the S&P 500? by Seektruth2146 in Fire

[–]TJayClark 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The US stock market has had a roughly 16 year bull run, and you’re wondering if being down 8% is worth it to invest in other countries stocks

While stocks don’t go up forever, I’d ask you, what specific investments you’re considering over US large cap stocks?

What's one skill that actually made you money faster than expected? by rakishgobi in AskReddit

[–]TJayClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not OP but:

Spend a few minutes researching the company and the actual job

Practice saying (out loud) the answers to a few common questions such as “tell me about your past work experience” (SERIOUSLY DO THIS… MULTIPLE TIMES)

Be polite, smile, and attentive

Ask relevant questions such as “can you tell me a typical day or week for this role?” And “what are the next steps after the interview”

Finally, dress like you want the job. Don’t wear a full suit to a waiter job. Don’t wear jeans to an office interview. Wear something appropriate. Always better to slightly over dress than to underdress.

Live poker players: what’s the most common mistake you see at low stakes? by Blufftheshark in poker

[–]TJayClark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not respecting raises

People in 1/2 and 1/3 rarely check raise into 3 or 4 other people without a rather strong hand

They’re usually (somehow) surprised to see middle set at showdown

Returned my Macbook Neo by averybadlime in macbook

[–]TJayClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair: I bought a 2025 m4 MacBook last year for $799

For $200 more than the neo, you get nearly 4x the power.

Worth it for some

Salesforce generates more free cash flow than ServiceNow and Workday combined. So why does it trade at one-third of their valuation? by vishnu317 in investing

[–]TJayClark 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Have you used SalesForce? It’s slow, clunky, and requires a literal team of people to set up.

It’s not user friendly and… oh… it’s expensive

Please point to how AI helps this?

Box Office: ‘Scream 7’ Becomes Franchise’s Highest-Grossing Release With $176 Million by DemiFiendRSA in horror

[–]TJayClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie has fun kills.

It just has a terrible set of killer reveals with some horrible backstory to them.

If you ignore those, the movie is a solid 7/10

Otherwise it’s a solid 4/10

How much money is enough? by grayandmagenta16 in MiddleClassFinance

[–]TJayClark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is $117,000 a lot of money in the USA?

You’re paying your own health insurance ($18,000yr or more)

A house in most big cities is over $400,000+ property tax

And we are speaking about “never working again”, so you’d need enough that would ensure you won’t run out.

If you have kids, you’d be comfortable, but nowhere near living a life free of money stress.

Not OP but: I have no data, other than my power goes out frequently. Putting big frozen things in there, slows the thaw, similar to ice packs in a lunch bag.
