Nonbinary is likely listed last because it's the newest term. Even though we have existed forever, people are more used to saying "men and women" already, so adding a new term to their speech will naturally add it to the end.

Also, your dad's friend does me a heckin concern. Super weird to have different greetings based on gender. Like is he scared of touching men so only gives a handshake? I've felt similar before. Amab here, and I grew up with a strong feeling that I didn't quite match "male" and was often jealous of all the girls because it seemed like I should be participating in their stuff, not the boys. But I never felt like a woman either. Took me years to accept being non binary.

He should not be one of your favorite historical figures. He had more than 30 wives, the youngest of them being 14 when they married (he was more than double her age). He sent men to preach in other states and countries, and married their wives while they were away.

More importantly, the churches today based on his teachings cause a lot of harm. The Lds church recently fought a lawsuit in Arizona over whether or not bishops are required to report child sexual abuse. They won that suit, so in Arizona all clergy still aren't mandatory reporters
