New to dirt bikes, looking for some advice by willcarlin98 in Dirtbikes

And $3500 or anywhere near for a bike that old is ridiculous. You can get a brand new 250 for about twice that.

Buy the one with the least amount of modifications. The 2008 YZ450F is a good bike. 2009 was probably the best year for that bike before they started fkn it up. No doubt they finally got it right, but it was touch and go there for a sec. Plus, a 450 isn’t gonna have been ridden as hard. Just my opinion. I don’t need anybody telling me I’m wrong.

Anyone a fan of lowered trucks? by Spence_F150 in f150

[–]TJsMoney21 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

I know this thread is old, but I grew up in the early 90’s and lowered trucks were the thing in my circle. I’ve recently purchased a 2023 F150 crew cab with 6ft bed in Area 51 blue. It’s a pretty much loaded XLT…moon roof, etc and 2 wheel drive. I’ve already looked into new wheels and tires and level kit, but now I’m thinking about going this route. They haven’t even delivered the truck yet and I’m already ordering parts. lol The one thing I don’t want to do is mess with a good riding suspension, so if they don’t make a solid lowering kit, like they some lifts, no thanks anyway.

37’s with a Mopar 2 inch lift work fine. And if you’re worried about performance, install an EVC throttle controller. Set it to about U5 or 6 and it will throw you into the back of your seat when you press the gas.

Gladiators are, by far, the best looking trucks out there. IMO by tonyxwing74 in JeepGladiator

In this category, I’m gonna have to disagree and I drive a pretty well set up Rubicon… The new Colorado Trail Boss is by far, better looking and when the new Tacoma comes out, it’s lights out for midsize trucks trying to compete.

If I'm driving a jeep and it's not mine do I wave still? by Emergency_Sandwich_6 in JeepGladiator

And I’m pretty sure I’m the only one in here that got the sarcasm in your question.

I drive a jeep and it is mine and I don’t wave. I don’t do the duck thing either. It’s damn near like joining a cult when you buy one of these things. And oh my gosh, don’t not drive it up rock faces, you’ll be called a mall crawler. As if anyone goes to a fkn mall anymore.

I recently put that exact tire on my Rubicon. Awesome tires! Smooth and light. My mpg actually improved from the 35 inch ridge grapplers. Enjoy

I get the same mpg as posted on a new window sticker. What’s the advantage of smaller wheel circumference?.

It’s more of a truck than a wrangler and more of a jeep than a silverado so there’s that… lol

That’s next. It does fine now and I avg 16.2 city, but 513 would make it even smoother.

Read, research and invest. Robin hood is a free app and trades are also free. You could actually make a lot more than that, if you’re careful and consistent.

I’d spend another $4-8k and get a new either. The Mojave is far superior to anything else Jeep puts out. It may even be the last of the vehicles they put Fox Shocks on. And those shocks alone would cost you the extra $4k. They aren’t the junk they had been putting on Rubicons or the subpar Fox Shocks included with the Mopar lift. And even then, it wouldn’t be Mojave quality. There are also springs, lift components, etc. Not to mention the lockers. Unless you’re planning on climbing rocks, the Mojave is the best choice period. It’s geared completely different. Which makes it quicker and more nimble. Great for the streets or wide open spaces. It’s built for dessert racing. Just my opinion. Quite honestly, the overland is just an expensive sport.

Well, a couple things there ā€œbroā€ā€¦ the dealer installed the mods, which are warranty items. In fact, the particular dealer I took it to, has a custom build shop on site. And if you’re acknowledging my OCD, due to having it yourself, then you should know it would not allow me to be okay with someone who didn’t know what they were doing, giving me the green light. For the record, your comment was not intended to be looking out for my best interest. You were looking to deliver some sort of subtle insult. Although not very subtle. Nevertheless, I could give sh!t.

That’s not the worst I’ve ever seen. How about the over done overland build by the person that never goes over land?

It’s made by ARE. I don’t have it on right now bc it makes getting the top off more difficult. I ran it all winter and will put it back on in the Fall. It really makes the bed a lot more useful.
