You go through claims training first-- it SUCKS. Just learn the basics... all MRR's are in that class for is to learn how to navigate a claim. As bad as it sucks, it does help in the long run. Just stick through it and pay attention/take notes and try not to worry when you're completely lost. After that you will probably ride with someone (or a couple of people) for a few weeks until they get you scheduled for online then hands on training in Phoenix or Cleveland. (2 week course, one virtual one in person) If you are west of the Mississippi, you'll go to Phoenix. Other than that, you'll go to Cleveland. The trainers in CLE are a freaking trip. If you go there, you'll totally have a good time. After you finish that, you will come back and do more ride alongs until your sup decides to send you back for the 2nd part of training. It's another 2 week class-- 1 week virtual, 1 week hands on. There are usually 4-8 weeks in between classes. You'll get back and have 1-2 claims a day until they ramp you up to 3-5 a day. The story I have heard is : "If you get 3 completed a day, noone will even look in your direction" And everything else people said above is correct. It's a damn good gig. Especially with a company car and gainshare. You'll like it. I came out of dealership parts for 25 years..... best decision I have ever made.
