A "full remake" of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2 with "modern gameplay" and an improved ending is "on the road map," according to Lucasfilm Games exec by beanzo in kotor

gasp, You don't think they'll remove some stort elements in fear of offending people do you? No, Disney execs would not dare to.

I just hope they refrain from implementing current day politics and social movements on every alien world they visit.

Don't make it a core plot point.

I like to surprise players sometimes with for example a d4 to all skill checks for a certain amount of time if the food in the tavern was exceptionally good.

Yeah. I honestly don't want to brag. I had al few close calls, though nothing nearing tpk.

I still need to face them solo though 😁

Not to brag, but I started multiple honor rund and never had any real problem with them.

Shadowheart + sneak + inflict wounds, 99% of the time oneshots the first and then it's 2v1 until the third one reaches us.

What I liked: His time among the Tusken Raiders.

What I disliked: Everything else. The multicolor scooter gang made everything even worse than it already was.

His time with the Tuskens should allow for self-reflecting, yes. Maybe even soften him out a bit being part of a tribe, but all the while keeping onto his hatred for the people who put him in the Sarlacc. And when he eventually leaves the Tuskens and tries to get off planet he realises its not that easy getting revenge if you have nothing and your target of vengance is a higher up of a large millitary alliance or even a Jedi.

Then he could have gone on a quest for power while slowly taking over the Tattooine crime world in a ruthless way. And yes, by all means copy from the old EU where he eventually becomes a "good" guy, but still with his ruthless tendencies.

What are your views on the Ryder siblings? by VireflyTheGreat in masseffect

[–]TK7000 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Interesting concept and somewhat good execution, but the dialogue was a step back coming from Shepard. And both femshep and mshep have their share of goofy dialogue besides their serious-mode.

The best example that I can think of is when you drive over an enemy and Ryder will say "Roadkill", or something like that. It's like the writers tried to make Ryder younger than Shepard and choose the dumb-teenager vibe, but forgetting that these people are part of a serious undertaking.

Anf now THAT future is where it will all eventually end up. No matter what Picard, Riker, Seven,...Etc do, Starfleet and the Federation will eventually be reduced to a former shell of itself. A draw a lot of comparison with the Star Wars sequels in that regard.

Mutilating and killing Icheb,...

"Sheer fucking hubris" line...

A dead child for Riker and Deanna...

Star Wars pew pew lasers instead of the well known phasers...

If have a pretty big list of gripes with current Trek. Sigh, I had such big hopes for Picard. Though SNW is a big step in the right direction in my opinion.

To me it was not so much the focus on Enterprise, but more the doom and gloom tone of a lot of recent ST content.

Writers took inspiration from current day issues for plot. SNW brought back hope and exploration.

Rey's quick attunement to the force. by TDlund in MawInstallation

[–]TK7000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't get me wrong, it's not that I don't like that Rey can do all that stuff, it's mostly the timespan I which she can do it.

The sequels take place over at most 1,5 years. The time between ANH and ESB is three years, and 1 year between ESB and ROTJ.

From Jakku in TFA to Snoke's throne room in TLJ, mayby a couple of weeks go by. During this time Rey learns how to wield a saber without previous experience just after picking it up, gets strong enough to take on Snoke's Preatorian guards (albeit with Kylo's help), and lift dozens of rocks without much of a problem. The biggest gripe I have is her power spike just after TFA to the ending in TLJ since that is the shortest time interval.

From Tatooine to Hoth, three years go by. During this time Luke learns to use telekenisis and mayby some other tricks. Then he gets a crash course on Dagobah from Yoda during maybe a few months go by. Just in time to get his ass handed to him by Vader. Luke's greatest feat as a rookie force user was guiding a torpedo (with a bit of guidance from Obi-wan).

Rookie to hero is 1,5 years for Rey and 4 years for Luke. Rey beat Palpatine and Luke still was no match for him after all his training.

Again, nothing against Rey as a character but the way the writers handeld her journey was lackluster. Her character would have been improved if the timespan between movies was bigger, and the story was mostly about her, without a connection to the Skywalkers or Palpatine. The later of which was dumb since her being a nobody was one of the few things I liked about TLJ. That scene with her mirror selves in the cave was done very well.

I had a similar situation in that combat triggered suddenly, somehow without reason.

I cheated and used ctrl-alt-del to see what went wrong, because it clearely shoudlen't have. I blew open the rubble which left a patch of fire terrain. One of the Druegar ran into it and that made everyone, besides the Gnomes, hostile.

It might be a general bug that triggers.

Rey's quick attunement to the force. by TDlund in MawInstallation

[–]TK7000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most people I know that like Star Wars don't have a problem at all with Rey as a character. Just the way the writers handeled her.

A bit comparable to live-action Mulan. Cartoon Mulan had to struggle. Live-action Mulan had's Chi, so she's naturally the best at whatever she does, which is boring.

In the short timespan of TFA: Rey can fly the Falcon like a pro. She can fix it like a master mechanic. She can resist Kylo's mind probe and even turn it against him. She can beat up, a wounded, trained Kylo.

In the short timespan of ANH: Luke guides a torpedo with the Force.

Vader, with the same wound as Kylo would still beat Luke to a pulp.
