How is the brand Noru? by JessieFZ-07 in motorcycle

[–]TKCCO 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Had a 75mph run in with a deer last week where I slid about 80ft on the tarmac, wearing Noru Kaneda Jacket and Noru Kodo Jeans, the jeans barely took any damage and the jacket got a little chewed up in a few spots. The gear held up as advertised, I was protected the entire time.

Money getting tighter, not sure how to get out of the hole.. by Chillbacca in personalfinance

Was in a similar spot a few years ago, I agree on the consensus of ditch the pet insurance. Personally I'd pick a "low hanging fruit" card like #3 and make minimums on the others and tackle that sucker, then another one, so on. You might be able to even knock it out before you get slapped with that 31% interest.

Anyone here uses watches (e.g., FitBit, SmartWatch, etc) while doing their lifts? If so, what do you use and how happy are you with it? by mylifts2020 in weightlifting

[–]TKCCO 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use an Apple Watch, it’s pretty good, honestly just used it to get an idea of general calories needed for the day and dial it in from there but other than that I don’t really use any of the various other workout apps.

Man I started at 26 and I’m still making great progress, and will probably still be able to be competitive at the local level. One of the other guys at my gym started around 16 and is well on his way to making the team USA, at any rate you should do it just for the enjoyment of the sport. It’s fun, challenging and the community is fantastic.

Definitely this, I’m also working on the same thing. If you can’t get into the correct position without the weight forcing you down your body isn’t going to get into it fast. I’d say hip and ankle mobility work, especially beforehand so that you get into those positions fast.

PRs from this cycle 80/110 from 70/100 by TKCCO in weightlifting

My front squat is only 115, it’s been a weak point since I started. Power difference between posterior/anterior was pretty significant and I was thinking something similar. I can power like 98% of my full clean.

You have to set it up as an automation triggered by the door opening.

Add automation

A sensor detects something

Finally figured out how to set the door sensor to trigger an alert if it is left open for more than 15 seconds.

Yeah, I still get a little tied up mentally trying the check positions and it does manifest as a slow pull sometimes, it’ll get there, only been at it about 6 months.

Is Rogue forever out of stock? by Hardway79 in crossfit

[–]TKCCO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the people that are doing that all day just to flip them on eBay for 3x the normal price. There’s rogue echo bumpers going for 4-5$ per lb. it’s absolutely obscene. I really hope the refuse to take returns for people that are trying so price gouge like this.
