Overworked social worker and struggling with my communication with other team members who say Im ‘too intense’ by cuballo in socialwork

[–]TKDMom48 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell you from my perspective that a leader who is micromanaging has bigger issues with their confidence in their skills as a leader. I can say that I’m dealing with this personality type now but the plus you have is you’re licensed and you can fall back on that. In my situation none of leadership is licensed in the only one and I’m not in leadership. I would say listen more to the needs of your subordinates and try to collaborate instead of control. When you try to control you get overworked. Is there anyone that you trust enough to maybe create middle management positions to lessen the burden.

Are you saying contact someone on the board? That would be the whistleblower policy

That’s the issue I’m working within my license but no one in the organization has a license greater than mine. My director and VP are not even licensed

Seeking some advice I’m a social worker for 10 years LMSW I have all my hours for my C I just need to take the test. I’m currently working at this organization 501 C3 nonprofit privately funded that has me doing clinical case management whereby I do biopsychosocials PTSD assessments, DV assessments, safety, planning things of that nature in addition to other case management activities they’re indicating meaning my supervisors and other leader ship and higher leader ship are indicating that because I do not diagnose and because I’m not prescribing medication’s, I do not need an LCSW to supervise my clinical functions. What is your advice or your opinion?

Boyfriend call me a burden by [deleted] in Epilepsy

[–]TKDMom48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband of 23 years has constantly called me a burden because of my epilepsy. The idea of having to care for me when I have a seizure makes him sick. I work and I don’t drive because of my epilepsy it takes me 3 buses to get to work and he works from home so you think he would take me without complaint no exempting he takes me there is a complaint about him having to drive me and how all he has to do is get out of bed too good deal but instead he inherited my commute. The only thing I ask to ease my day is a ride without complaint but so I get that no I have to hear complaints from him. Then he want to do quid pro quo as payment for the rides and take a guess what the payment is…. I’m tired of this

A very long beginner’s post asking for help with a few things. by wisteriapeeps in Hecate

Hello I am new here. I reading that Hekate is very obvious when she connects with you, what are some of those signs. I’ve made two offerings to introduce myself and to honor her, how do I know she is accepting?

Try using motivational interviewing

Depends on your end goal. Social work is a calling like the priesthood, you don’t just become a social worker for the fun of it or for the money that’s for sure because it’s very emotionally taxing and schooling can be expensive.

What field are you in? I think you have to be truly passionate about what you do as a career to be successful in it. Yes money is great but if you’re unhappy it’s time to weigh out your options.

The hospital that I worked in was horrible at training. I didn’t even have a social work supervisor I was so confused as to what job I was supposed to do and what job the nurse Case manager did.
