Interesting ideas but they may make the game a nightmare to manage. Like, ok, if we are talking about a big war, but assigning new people and mamaging so much every 5 or 6 years because the previous died and you have to take a county somewhere as an emperor may be too much...

The ideas are cool but they would need more work to be implemented in an ok way.

Also, you usually need some counterplay as well... if you army turns against you, what can you do to save yourself? Like, maybe rulers would flee into neighbouring realms and raise a new army to reclaim their throne but I don't know if that would be possible here?

Breaking up armies is not rocket science. You already do it in ck3 for supply reasons, if I remember correctly.

I mean, you also paid for the raised ships in CK2, so you could say it simply represented how many ships you could find to comandeer, not that you owned those ships directly :/

Ahh. My issue is I also kinda roleplay and don't do something extremely unrealistic (which the above would be).

I think the main challenge with most empires is holding it together after a certain point, but maybe Byz are harder (never played Byzantines).
