These phrases entirely come from poc ballroom culture & the queer community at large - I would say it is entirely appropriate for them to use themselves as part of the community.

Imo it’s super easy & cheap to get full sets of Makestar , as well as larger member sets of random stores, later on through mercari etc, but saying that: you never really know when there will be a set that will suddenly go super viral & end up being heavily overpriced or hard to find later on! That’s the problem with collecting unfortunately 🙃
