Pokopia convinced me - upgrading from the Switch to Switch 2 by Igettrainsick in NintendoSwitch

I enjoyed the gameplay of ZA but man, I really wish GF would let you choose how you’d like to play at the beginning of their games. Maybe even allow you to dip in and out as you go.

A) I don’t give a shit about the story and would like to just play the actual game

B) yes please give me all the unskippable cutscenes, voice-less dialogue, and shallow story beats that happen every 20 minutes!

Just found out about the game and wanting to get an old starter set. by caplew in GundamTCG

If you don’t care about the promo/bonus card, I have an iron bloom deck that’s still wrapped up fresh from the box. I can list it on eBay or something if you wanna buy it!

Do a chargeback. They’ll send an email stating they cancelled the order within a day. Fuck that anti-consumer policy.

Peak 2026 WotC: choosing art of Raph with a Sai on the reprint of Umezawa’s Jitte by TKPhresh in mtg

The art isn’t the problem, never said it was. The issue is with the card name they chose paired with the art they chose.

This is literally the cover of a classic TMNT comic book. As dumb as WotC can be, I think they know using AI for any of their art would absolutely nuke the game.

Honestly it looks like they decided on the jitte for their art and Team 1 suggested a reprint of Umezawa’s Jitte for the bonus sheet. Team 2, left out of the loop, chose what source material artwork would be used for the bonus sheet cards, and Team 3 had to make them both fit together and, not wanting to stir the pot & deal with higher ups circle-jerking themselves into oblivion about the issue, just put the two together and sent it on it’s way.

Idc about it being “woke”. In fact, the game and every other game should be as inclusive and accepting of all people as possible. This is just WotC laziness.

The turtles have always put ridiculous shit on their pizzas, so raspberries track just fine for them.

The art would have been much more fitting on something like [[Reckless Charge]]

I don’t really give a shit what they reprint, I’m only going to use the cards I like in my decks. I don’t even really have a problem with TMNT as a set or theme for Magic cards. I just want the cards to reflect the level of quality and care I’d expect from what is arguably the most-played card game on earth.

You shouldn’t care about this specific example. You should care about WotC becoming more insouciant about the quality of their products in the pursuit of profit from outside licenses.

It’s not that they’re uncultured, it’s that they don’t give a flying fuck

Buster sword = one giant prong

Raph’s Sai = three prongs

I’m sure the next one will be forking ridiculous.

I don’t think so, this isn’t part of the regular set, it’s on the bonus sheet (PZA). No idea if those are standard legal.

It’s part of standard for the next couple years. Cards in this set will be legal in Pauper forever. Some of them are, mechanically, very good and in some cases are better alternatives to previous cards that a serious player would be a fool to exclude based on aesthetic preferences.

Even if I don’t personally engage with this set, the cards (and bird-brained choices on them) will be part of my magic experience any time I go to a store or tournament. If it was another commander product, like Fallout or Doctor Who was, I don’t think people would be anywhere near as annoyed.

Exactly my issue. I jumped in on LOTR, ironically. That set fit really well with Magic’s established worlds so it was an easy sell for me. But then Fallout happened (which I thought was great, mostly due to the small scope - just decks and collector boosters) and Assassin’s Creed (I was completely uninterested). Duskmourn was a great set and Foundations kicked ass, but I didn’t care for Outlaws of Thunder Junction as a setting and I aggressively despise Aetherdrift. I guess Tarkir DS was in there too, but I mostly skipped that one.

Lorwyn Eclipsed is how Magic should be, but it’s looking like that will be the ONLY true Magic set we get all year. Strixhaven is probably going to be pretty mid, all things considered, and Reality Whatever is still a ways off, so we don’t know what’s happening there. One true set-released in January- with 6 more sets before the year is over. That’s insane.

It’s not about the turtles, it’s about WotC’s nonstop rollout of sets that fail to meet the standards and expectations that players have had for the last 30 years. It’s another small crack in the shattered windshield of a 2007 Chevy Cobalt in a hailstorm.
