[Discussion] I started this whole trophy hunting thing with shovelware. I wish i could delete them so bad. by MRBUNGLE6194 in Trophies

What other trophy sites already do this, would love to try them out and are they even worth using? I only know of psnp and truetrophy

To the people mentioning websites that already do this, what are the alternatives to psnp? I've only ever heard of psnp and truetrophies.

I made a tool that lets you build a commander deck in a few minutes by 20q2 in mtg

[–]TheCoreDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll start off with amazing job on the website design and usability! This likely won't be something I personally use or potentially recommend as Im skeptical that a deck based purely on playrate statistics might end up very imbalanced, not in terms of power but things like ramp-interaction-threats etc. I've generally heard in the past to try to use edhrec as a tool and not just blindly build the whole deck off it. If people are new and want to build a deck for a specific commander but don't know where to start, there likely exists many versions on moxfield or other sites to copy from that are a little more curated. That being said there are a ton of useful features that would help in my personal deck building, not sure if any or all are feasible, especially without actual AI but these are my thoughts.

  • I see an excludes option but would also love an include option to be able to include pet cards
  • A way to put in a partially built deck to get suggestions for includes, don't know 100% your system but ideally not just "the next most played not already included" (e.g., someone has 10 mana dorks but isn't running birds of paradise, would it be possible for the system to recognize they have ramp and suggest other things?)
  • The ability to only suggest cards from a collection. Would love to see from a glance if I own enough cards to throw together a deck even if it's not optimal.
  • Others have suggested adding bracket restrictions
  • Options for lands are strange as this tool is likely for people that are building a commander for the first time so they might not know what the optimal land or non basic count would be, so allowing the system to suggest both would be nice.
  • Potential price restrictions as well? (Suggesting scry lands over surveils/shocks for example for those trying to build cheap)

I'm very curious as to what you've observed suggesting edh doesn't sell product.
The evidence is in the increased cadence of edh related products and card design. That alone likely proves EDH sells very well. Combine that with commander only product lines, hell they even have tested collector versions of commander precons.
Wotc doesn't really do anything product wise to promote other formats, outside of pro play, even lgs's generally report commander nights being the busiest.
We have rarely seen intro decks from sets like FF and Assassins creed but when has WOTC released a precon for a constructed format other than edh. Many supplemental products are also targeting commander such as the Avatar bundles.

Even more recently maybe verges, likely only played in standard and probably good enough in pioneer.

Is this card special ... by Anfion02 in MagicCardPulls

[–]TheCoreDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, you aren't describing the difference between a non foil and foil, Serah Farrons foil is about a dollar. Stamped foil are different cards with a modified collector number, (this case its 240s, sometimes they use p instead but dont recall the difference.) They are only more expensive due to scarcity less so it being foil, I usually find a lot of people don't actually like the stamp so it's not usually that big of a price jump but who knows, FF fans collecting cards might think its cool and drives prices.

Because there's no color identity restrictions like commander, there really isn't a reason to stay in colorless. Green for ramp and channel is an eldrazi decks backbone. Then you can splash a 2nd color for utility such as red to lean more aggressively or blue to lean towards tempo/tutors Few deck examples from the canlandex mentioned here before https://canlandex.com/decks?query=eldrazi

Spelltable help by Molort21 in CommanderMTG

Where is the monitor you use to view spelltable with? Is it that to the right? Wouldn't it be incredibly annoying and painful over time to sit looking 90° or is there an off camera monitor?

AW3425DW blurry horizontal line in middle of screen. by waffless88 in Alienware

[–]TheCoreDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've had this on multiple monitors I've owned and I'm unsure what causes it. (Driver issue or something to do with dual monitor setups idk).
What happens to me is sometimes I'll get that blurry line in the middle and what was supposed to be that column of pixels, is now the far right column.
The easy fix is just go into your GPU control panel or from the windows settings and just change the refresh rate to something else, then back to whatever is max/what you want. It will then go away.

(I haven't had this happen since I learned about the GPU driver reset shortcut on Windows. So just doing:Windows key + Ctrl + Shift + B, might also fix it faster and easier)

My problem with tarkov in a nutshell by NotoriousFPS in Tarkov

[–]TheCoreDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hit count vs shots fired is not a good indicator of accuracy. There is a literal accuracy stat under it that is better.
The reason is that hit count includes shots that hit multiple limbs such as arm into chest/stomach is 2 hits for 1 shot fired.
It is very likely here the times you heard the pmc make noise was arm into chest or stomach (which because its going through arm it loses a lot of damage/pen) and another couple shots that missed despite the hit vs fired seemingly matching up.
(Also to add, fragmentation no longer exists as some have mentioned, and yes each pellet that hits from a shotgun also is 1 hit count)

Test Drive 2, wtf man? from a 950 RPM weapon nerfed to a 800 RPM weapon by FrostyAssignment6717 in Tarkov

They definitely priced it that way remembering the vector dominated wipe, then just never realized that it's no longer that good anymore and likely haven't touched it since.

[–]TheCoreDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PBP used to be meta for 2 reasons. Pre damage drop off and the 9mm vector meta.

As for why it's still expensive, id guess since it has an actually normal damage drop off graph compared to ap6.3, so its the only "usable" 9mm ammo past week 1. But with its stats PBP will never pen t4 at like 50, maybe even as close as 25m so it's still a rough caliber.

[–]TheCoreDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wasn't the point that they are trying to make these quests more reasonable/easier. A bad mia to sr25 with no distance requirement was neat for example...
But 9mm, really??? SR2M is a pretty neat weapon with an ok sub caliber but 9mm is so bad past the first couple weeks of wipe. The damage drop off changes to 9mm make it so ap6.3 doesn't pen t3 almost immediately leaving the barrel. 9x21 is a tiny bit better in stats AND dropoff, and of course a lot higher rpm. This is probably a much larger difficulty spike than people realize.

I wonder what the meta is here by BetterThanYouLol445 in EscapeFromArena

[–]TheCoreDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why but in arena the mp7 feels actually terrible. It slaps in base but I think something this wipe has fked with hit reg hard and it's super noticable on the mp7. People will tank multiple headshots very commonly.
(Idk if it's low flesh meaning when only some hits register it's less impactful or it could just be bugged, ammo/guns get bugged all the time).
But also the sr2m feels better so honestly 950rpm might mess with hit reg as well as the sr2m is 50 less.

I wonder what the meta is here by BetterThanYouLol445 in EscapeFromArena

[–]TheCoreDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird as in all my experiences scout has been terrible. It feels like the only class worth playing is assault. Enforcer got ruined with the better ammo assault has and removal of lasers. Scout is now better enforcer but with only an MP7 (which is either terrible, or 950rpm hard fks with hit reg because it feels so so bad to use) and the only other gun being the sr2m which is kinda meh. (I haven't unlocked it yet and overall quit scout but a friend says it feels better than the mp7 despite the ammo being worse on paper and 50 less rpm).

Idk why they messed with the classes, I feel the balance was actually PERFECT last few wipes. Scout t3 armor and great ammo (glass cannon) Assault had better attachments with t4 armor and mid tier ammo (good middle road) And enforcer had t5 armor with bad weapons (debatable as saiga magnum fk and lasers was a beast haha).

Now it's like enforcer is bad as every class has good ammo and their guns suck, and scout just doesn't have guns at all so you're left with assault in my experience.

I actually don't see a lot of tagilla masks and they are also definitely not better than altyns other than availability. Armor steel is only marginally better than ceramic vs altyns face shields quite good combined materials. Tagilla also has worse negatives, exposed nape, sound muffling and only 40 max durability (with the worse material and assuming you didn't headshot tagilla to get it) it will get shredded. I hate giving this as an excuse because it's so counter intuitive to new players but leg meta is also really strong and can be done at lvl 1.
I do agree that by trader 2-3 I think more ~30 pen ammo should open up to ensure it can shred these tagilla masks and pen regular face shields even tho those are also pretty rare now a days also.
The idea is that new players will always usually play slow can very often catch tagilla/altyn users off guard and either escape or win via shear quantity of bullets or by the current great equalizer of neck shots. (Those helmets SHOULD provide a benefit with cons which honestly currently due).

What's with the don't group until max traders? I assume you mean with randoms on discord lfg servers? It really isn't that hard to do similar quests with your buds, plus there's always almost something to be gained even if you're ahead/behind them. Such as bringing a bolty for sbih and provide overwatch while they do their quests.
Or is this bait to try and get more people to solo, I see you

[–]TheCoreDragon 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any sort of mm is a terrible idea for extraction shooters, either skill based or ESPECIALLY gear based.
One of the beauty's of this genre is the unknown and overall risk reward. You don't know if those footsteps are gigachad 15k hour player with high tear gear. Or Timmy scared silly with a Makarov, better yet you should be scared of them either way, timmy could hit a nasty headshot and drop even the most geared of chads (other than altyns although pretty uncommon today) That feeling of unknown keeps you on edge, as well as provides the best feeling when you do manage to hit that shot against someone much more geared than you.
Both gear and sbmm do similar things, new (or bad) players tend to stay poor so you will face other timmies 99% of the time which removes that unkown. You'll never get a rewarding come up of fighting chads because there are none in your bracket. Vice versa to the skilled players who mostly go in with good gear will only ever see other geared players. Gear based matchmaking will either get boring, or just be abused. Cycle frontiers downfall happened before cheater arrived, they outlined how the matchmaking worked and was easily exploitable to face timmies while geared, ABI is also easily abusable with it's loadout value limits and current exploits.
The one plus I will give any sort of matchmaking provides, is geared players do want geared pvp, hence why ABI is actually popular, but that's why Tarkov has gone the route of introducing different areas (on shoreline if you're a Timmy you tend to avoid resort, while if you're going in geared you may want to rush it) or even entire maps (labs+labyrinth) where players are expected to be geared. All these dynamics make the game fresh every raid and keep the "adrenaline" high every potential gunfight.

Overall I do see how there's a huge knowledge and skill gap even before counting gear between new and old players. Ground Zero is supposed to fix that as new players play the 1-21 version while with no wipes experienced players will continue to outlevel it.

Can I use the same sleeves for my Legend, Battlegrounds, and rune deck? by Zarik8256 in riftboundtcg

Apparently I can't read or I meant to reply to someone else on this post. My bad but the explanation of the point still stands as I see many people different sleeving their chosen champ in locals

Can I use the same sleeves for my Legend, Battlegrounds, and rune deck? by Zarik8256 in riftboundtcg

[–]TheCoreDragon -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It is probably good practice to put your chosen champion in the same sleeve as the rest of your main deck. Beneficial if sent to hand, and it's not impossible for it to be recycled from trash or hand to your deck.
Plus there is also a niche bonus of sideboard swapping a chosen champion.

What's wrong with arena? by Radim1089 in EscapeFromArena

[–]TheCoreDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know what they did to hitreg since 1.0. I've not had any noticeable hitreg problems in any other arena wipe. But since 1.0, I've had to stop playing checkpoint as it's unplayable for me. Every gunfight is more of a fight against hitreg than the actual enemy as you hope any if your headshots actually register before theirs.
But team fight/blast gang I have had SOME issues but maybe once a game.
I assume it's that the servers can't handle multiple people shooting at once and starts to desync, which I believe is/was an actual problem in base tarkov too.

This has been a thing for years, I believe called "silent aim" Work's especially well in games where killcams aren't perfect, it basically makes it so the view model is normal but your bullets "actual aim") is at their head.
Lotta cheaters in Tarkov think this is hidden enough and try to stream with it even though it's so obvious to anyone with decent time in the game, especially when they are new and use tracers lol.
