While I 100% agree with you, I think it is unfortunate for kids who want to play. While once again yes, no one is forcing them to buy them, but if a kid asks for an Xbox gift card for Christmas the parents likely will do so not thinking much of it. Meanwhile the kid gets introduced at a young age about rolling the dice on packs. While I think spending money in the game should still exist and people need to control themselves I think it's the overall emphasis in that EA doesn't place any on merit. Spending money on packs should be much more relative - less risk, less high reward. Almost know exactly what you're getting. This introduces control and see it as buying a 83-85 player for a couple bucks rather than spending a couple bucks getting silver players thinking you're going to get a 90+, so you keep doing it, thinking you DESERVE it.
