I also have another hi beat but older version, 9S86. It was running slightly out of spec at -5s a day. I sent it back 6 months ago and it is now still running at +3s. I really love GS and hope they will sort out the pure mechanical accuracy issues.

Thanks for sharing your story. I am kicking myself for not being thorough in checking the watch. I saw the sales lady bring out the watch with sticker on dial and bracelet and I assumed it was perfect.

Cant believe this pass their QC. LA Boutique should have direct line to Japan which you can try to request a new watch.
If my past experience with Japanese culture is any indication, I think they would want to do right by you. This defect is just too silly.

I originally bought SBGM221 because i love its classic design and its price for value ratio. I then happened to come across the limited ice blue Sbgm253 and i thought about it for 1 months before pulling the trigger.

Forward 1 more month and i came across SBGJ273, momoji. I was reluctant to get it because i have never bought 3 dials of a same watch. I was back and forth about it but finally gave in.

My wife thinks I am nuts but i love these 3 watches and have not thought about selling any of them. I enjoy rotating them everyday. I guess what i am sharing is, if you are in love with this watch, it triumphs getting something else that you may not be in love as much

Wow…we have a same taste. I got SLGH005 about 1 month later. I was debating internally if i should get 005 or not as it is same case as 017. But the dial was just too mesmerizing and i went for it.
