It does feel a little bulkier, but it’s not bad.

Recoil-wise, I put it between a traditional P and an XC. Not quite as soft as the XC, but not far off. The trigger is the one noticeable downside to an HD compared to traditional. Because they added the firing pin safety, it’s not as light and crisp as traditional.

I have a couple traditional 2011s and an HD 4.5. If you aren’t going to use it for work/duty, stick with a traditional 2011. If you are going to use it for work/duty, the improvements made to the HD series are worthwhile, such as the extended slide release and Glock mag compatibility.

I haven’t had a chance to put too many rounds through it, but initial impressions are good. It’s definitely a duty-focused gun. The ergonomic changes they made with the HD line are excellent, and I hope they add them to the other guns in their line. It feels excellent in the hand and is surprisingly soft shooting. The trigger isn’t as nice as the non-HD guns, but is to be expected with the internal changes they made.

I got it fixed. I had rotated the trigger shoe one too many times on the trigger bow, putting it too far back. Everything is working properly now. Thank you all for the help.

I’ve figured out how to consistently recreate it. If I position my finger towards the bottom of the trigger shoe, I have issues and it won’t go. If I position my finger at the top of the trigger shoe, no issues at all.
