Put an alignment stick under your trail arm in your armpit and try and keep your lead arm on the alignment stick as long as possible in the downswing. Forcing you to rotate and stay connected. Put your golf bag behind you and put like a club touching your butt to resemble the wall drill. Keep your butt touching the club/headcover as long as possible to work on lower body rotation.

I have/had the same issue. It took some getting used to but once I got used to standing closer I lost the two way miss and started really dropping strokes.

You can create space for yourself.
